Big 10 sucks. Time and time again they get exposed when playing teams with speed. They are just a bunch of plodders. When the play the USC's, Florida's, LSU's of the world they just look pitiful. Yeah, they willl of course jump up every now and then........every dog as their day.........but on a consistent basis they just get overwhelmed by the real powers of the football world. We have already seen the speed thing rear its head in the FSU/Wisky game. FSU, who is not anything special, just overwhelmed Wisky with the team speed on defense. I suspect we will see it again when that vaunted Penn State offense faces off against USC. If my Bulldogs have any motivation at all, we should see it again in the GA/MSU game.

Yes, the Georgia team that just shows up every year and goes to work against the strongest conference in the SEC. All they do is end up in the top 10 EVERY YEAR just about. That's it.......nothing really to brag about............ Hell, if Oklahoma had to play Florida, Tenn, Alabama, LSU etc. every year most would forget they even had a football team cause they would be the Vandy of the SEC.

That said, you really don't have any facts to back up your statement "THAT GEORGIA TEAM THATS ALWAYS PICKED TO DO SOMETHING AND NEVER DOES??" Let me enlighten you on the facts.
2007 preseason #13 -------finished #2
2006 preseason #15 -------finished #23
2005 preseason NR -------finished NR
2004 preseason #3 -------finished #7
2003 preseason #11 -------finsihed #7
2002 preseason #8 -------finished #3
2001 preseason NR -------finshed #23 (Richt's first season)
2000 preseason #10 -------finshed #20
1999 preseason #15 -------finished #16
1998 preseason #24 -------finished #14
1997 preseason NR -------finished #10
Where are those lofty expectations??? There is one time (2004 at #3) where there were any expectations of being a title contender, and we finished #7 that year. Actually I'd put those preseason and final rankings up against almost any team out there. In the last 11 years we have exceeded expectations more than half the time.Last edited by harold_bush; 12-30-2008, 03:03 PM.

They are over ranked almost every year. in 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001 they were ranked top 5 every year, and guess how many times they finished better than their preseason ranking???? I'll save you the time..........they never finished higher than their preseason ranking. Ever since their 2000 Championship, that team has been overrated.
Also, as Richt mentioned, that is playing in a pretty terrible Big 12 conference. Up until the last couple years the Big 12 has been pathetic outside of Texas and Oklahoma. Until this year, the Big 12 was light years away from the SEC.Last edited by harold_bush; 12-30-2008, 03:20 PM.

I think Vandy, LSU, S. Carolina, Georgia, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Alabama, and Florida are still playing and they will probably win 6 of the 8. just my opinion
Texas beats Ohio State by 2 TDs and Florida wins by 10.
Being honest and not just pulling for "your favorite team", how can anyone say that the SEC isn't the toughest conference in the NCAA. I want someone to show me a conference where you play a conference schedule, week in and week out, as tough as the SEC. I just don't see any conference as tough as the SEC.jc Wishes He Can Get A Goat

I'm not an "SEC" fan because of the teams. I try to be realistic and I just don't see another conference right now from top to bottom as strong as the SEC. I'm not saying that Oklahoma or Texas or USC, etc aren't also worthy of being a top 5 school. My point is that from top to bottom, right now, the SEC is the toughest conference to play in. I really thought LSU was overrated this year and it proved out. But their conference games are as tough as anyone else's in the country. Just my opinionjc Wishes He Can Get A Goat

The "balance of power" shifts so often in the SEC because it is so competitive. Georgia is still a top 20 team this year and because of being "Georgia", they will be most every year, as will LSU, Florida, Alabama (now with Saban0, AND so will Texas and Oklahoma.
I think, and I say again, I think, that Harold and Richt comments are meant to say that by playing in the SEC, as tough as it is, you have less margin for error, because every week you have a tough game. There are very few patsies. Vandy use to be but they aren't any more, and Kentucky, Arkansas, Ole Miss aren't patsies either. As bad as Miss. State was this year, they could still compete.jc Wishes He Can Get A Goat

6 conference championships don't mean shit when you are playing inferrior opponents. Try winning your SEC division then having to play the other SEC division to be crowned SEC champs. Any SEC team that makes the national championship has already had to beat a national champion to get there most years. As i stated in a previous post-its not bashing when the facts speak loud and clear.
