Game of the day: Knicks at Grizzlies
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
New York Knicks at Memphis Grizzlies (-5.5, 192.5)
One night after taking down the top team in the Western Conference, the New York Knicks attempt to do the same against another top club from the Southwest Division when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. These two teams combine for a record of 12-1 SU and ATS to start the season.
New York remained the only unbeaten team in the NBA on Thursday as it overcame a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter to post its sixth straight win, a 104-100 victory in San Antonio. The Knicks, who had lost nine consecutive road meetings with the Spurs, ended the contest with a 27-11 run.
The setback by San Antonio made Memphis the only team in the West with just one loss. After dropping their season opener to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Grizzlies have reeled off six consecutive victories, including a 107-97 triumph in Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Memphis took a 44-41 lead on a 3-pointer by Quincy Pondexter with 3:45 remaining in the second quarter and did not trail thereafter.
TV: 9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN, MSG (New York)
ABOUT THE KNICKS (6-0, 6-0 ATS): Thursday marked the first time this season New York has allowed 100 points. Its previous low was the 94 scored by Dallas in last Friday's victory. The Knicks, who entered the game first in the league with a 3-point percentage of 42.6, was 11-of-25 from beyond the arc. Friday's contest concludes New York's three-game road trip. It returns home to face Indiana on Sunday before another three-game trek to New Orleans, Dallas and Houston.
ABOUT THE GRIZZLIES (6-1, 6-1 ATS): Memphis is two victories away from matching the longest winning streak in franchise history. The Grizzlies won eight in a row from Jan. 11-25, 2004. The club has won a record 14 straight home games, last losing in its own building on March 16 to Toronto in overtime. It has not lost at home in regulation since Feb. 12 against Utah.
