But the overrated part for me is just not true. I of all ppl love to see hyped up players fail ie peyton manning.......thing is when a guy is the real deal IMO and as of today he has more than held up his end of the bargin, you have to give him props and in this situation i do. the guy is that good.
Peyton is a good analogy. The media portrays him as The Greatest. He's disappointed more than he's succeeded.

IMO MJ and the Bulls during their first championship didn't have a great supporting cast. Pippen was only in his 4th season and virtually unknown. Same with Horace Grant. Bill Cartwright at center? It's easy to look back decades later and say MJ had a supporting cast.

If you think James is the best player in the game where would you rank Chris Paul? He's in the league 2 less seasons than James with more success. Prior to Paul joining the Hornets they won 18 games. In the 3 seasons with NO they've won 38, 39 and 56. In a more competitive conference. The most James' Cavs won in a season was 50.

IMO wins mean jack in the regular season. Lebron single handily lead the cavs to the NBA finals. You cant argue that. I dont care what conference you play in. Paul is legit there is no agruement.
IMO the top players in the game are:

        Lebron
        kobe
        Paul
        Wade(when healthy)

but the discussion is lebron being overrated. I say not a chance. The guy is all that and a bag of chips

What success is this? Being up 2-0 in his first playoff series?

          • IMO Lebron James will be the greatest player this game has ever seen.....he dominated this league fresh out of high school! How sick is that? Expectations are so high that now we are calling him overrated? Lebron James plays with trash people....he does not have 1 legitimate player with him, not one.

Chris Paul is a great player but he is not a dominant player.....he is a dominant point gaurd, big big difference.....If Chris Paul played with the Cavs they would be a lottery team. Paul has many legitimate players with him including Chandler, West and Peja.

If you think Lebron is overrated I beg you to watch game 5 of last years Eastern Conference Finals again and then get back to me.

Again this is only my opinion but I think Lebron will be the greatest player this game has ever seen just like I think Manning is already the greatest QB in the history of the NFL.

Lebron James has taken over this league and he still cant make a jump shot consistently and that is the easiest part of the game to develop.

Does anyone what Michael Jordan did for the final 3 titles with the Bulls? If you forgot let me remind you.....he paralyzed teams with that damn fade away shot of his all game long and nobody could stop it...thats all he did was hit fadeaway jump shots while running the triangle........

            PEACE

What SI issue was this in, just curious what the whole article said?
I guess you and I were both wrong on this.

As for a Bos/LA final, here is a clip from an ESPN article:

"I'm looking forward to it, all the things I used to watch on Sundays with that big plate of food in front of me, watching the Lakers and Celtics play on Sunday, Hubie Brown and Dick Stockton doing the game. I remember that like it was yesterday -- fire going, I'm going to grab that seat right in front, Mom telling me, 'Don't get too close to the TV, it'll kill your eyes.' I remember it like it was yesterday, man. I'm looking forward to this," he said.

Him, and a lot of other people, too -- not least among them commissioner David Stern, who in a moment of candor earlier this season said he was hoping, deep down in his heart, for another Lakers-Celtics Finals. He's got it: the team that had the best record in the East facing the team that had the best record in the West.
