  • Is LeBron Overrated?

DeShawn Stevenson Thinks LeBron is Overrated. Stevenson told Washington Post reporter Michael Lee, “He’s overrated. And you can say I said that.”

I agree with his comment. LeBron is great. However, like ESPN and the media often do, LeBron's greatness is blown out of proportion. Let him win a few titles before we compare him to Michael Jordan.

I agree too and i said this to all the people who said he should be the MVP. Look at their record in the weak east and i say he is 4th in the MVP voting at best!

Tough argument. He's definitely no Jordan, but then again, he doesn't have near the supporting cast MJ had. I could argue both sides.

What supporting cast? We saw how good MJ's supporting cast was once he left and it wasn't much!

LeBron is so far ahead of where Jordan was at the same point in his career that it's a joke. He is not as good right now as MJ in his prime, but he will be!!! If two things happen he will go down as the greatest of all time: 1. No major injury. 2. Has to win at least a couple of championships.

THE MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN PROFESSIONAL SPORTS.

Great players make their team better. He doesn't.

              He can't shoot.

He drives to the basket and gets every call.

              NBA Championships:
              D Wade - 1
              Lebron - 0

This is Hilarious! A year ago as the Cavs were headed to the Finals, I refused to call Lebron "Great" and said he was over hyped and over rated. I was basically ex-communicated for my comments on Wade vs James. Great question Frank, and Thank God for players like Stevenson, who don't buy into the hype and are not afraid to speak out against the hype of "the chosen one" As I said a year ago, calling him GREAT for getting him to the Finals is just crazy. Win a title or two then we will talk about GREAT. Until then he is just what Stevenson said OVER RATED let the blasting begin. lol Oh I forgot, this is ALL IMHO....

Well then Barkley, Malone, Stockton, etc are overrated as well. This argument about having to win a title to be considered great is ridiculous. I'm not a Cavs or Lebron fan, but he took a bad team to the finals...yea, he didn't win it, but look who he has on the team...the next best player is Daniel Gibson IMO...that's brutal.

                    Zeib and Sooner, great posts!

Cavs were a very mediocre 45-37 in a very weak eastern conference. They've taken a step backwards.

heleanth, if Lebron is better than Jordan at this point of his career why does the team have a worse record than the past two season? The Bulls won a championship 6th full season. Let's see if LeBron wins one next season, his 6th season?

He took a bad team to the finals in a bad conference. Bottom line. LeBron is not as good as portrayed by ESPN and the rest of the sports media.

You are right frank. You can put up numbers all day long but if you have no Titles, you failed at your goal.

LV, Nobody is comparing Barkley or Stockton to a guy named Jordan like so many do with Lebron. That is the difference!

soonerbud, That is hilarious and you are right on the money. How ironic! lol

Yea, but he beat a good Det team basically by himself...I guess I need to watch ESPN more to see how he is portrayed. Didn't look overrated yesterday against what IMO is a better team in Washington, but once again, Lebron won that game.

Lebron will win a few Championship, albeit not with Cleveland. And yes ,he will go from Great to the Greatest of alltime by the end of his career. He's only 23 yrs old or so,and look where he is.IMO he's way ahead of MJ when he was 23.

Comparing anyone to Jordan is ridiculous...yes, even Kobe...Jordan is the greatest player ever in ANY sport IMO, but that doesn't mean Lebron is overrated
