I feel sorry for KG to be "teased" like this. Paul Pierce will resort back to his "ball hog" self, and Ray Allen, that is along time for Jesus to be playing on those ol legs.. They better hope for a Detroit Eastern Championship, because anyone else will be toast against the West.........but hey if Sports Illustrated said it, it must be gospel. I prefer ESPN the magazine myself. lol

you are really out of it. big time.

if you think the nba would rather see phoenix or new orleans play the pistons in the finals instead of celts/lakers, you are really, really out of it.

and as i pointed out, a direct quote you can find in SI this week: "Of course we want Lakers-Celitcs," says a high level ABC employee. "WE'D KILL FOR IT."

yeah, they really want the hornets playing the pistons.

You know Jack, you are absolutely RIGHT! Which is what I meant in my post. By today standards he is one of the top 5 players. Kobe GREAT, Wade Good (that ring helps alot), Paul good and before he is done will be GREAT, and you know what? No one wants Lebron to get a ring more then me, but I know it won't be in Cleveland, so when he goes to Brooklyn, and they spend some money and get him some players around him we will talk. I just hope that lottery ball lands on Miami and we can get Beasley or Rose. Then with Wade and the Matrix they have a youth movement to build around. Good point though, this watered down NBA makes a lot of GOOD players seem great. Good post!

YOU really think the Celtics are headed to the Finals??? Talk about out of it, what makes you think they are going to the Finals.....Doc's great coaching.....like I said, poor KG being teased like that. What SI issue was this in, just curious what the whole article said?

You don't think the NBA wouldn't love the Suns and Steve Nash in the Finals against Detroit, contrasting styles and fans love the way Phoenix gets up and down the court.......and you don't think people would love to see Shaq get another ring? Think about that....

never said the celtics were making the finals, although they probably will because the east just isn't that good. and i have always been critical of garnett, pointing out that he gets a free pass for making it out of the 1st round once in his career.

you can find this in the current SI issue.

Sooner, I am not a Celtic fan so I will assume you are talking to Molta. In addition to the quote Molta pointed out, here is another:

'These are two storied franchises and strong brands and when strong brands come back, so do fans across the Nation'. - David Levy, Turner Sports. And between this quote and Molta's, I would say both individuals know more on the subject than all of us combined.

I think it is a nice story line but it does little to attract the casual fan. The casual fan knows the history of Bos/LA. The NBA fanatic may not want LA/Bos, but ratings are not about just fanatics.

i watch espn because there is no viable alternative. i read espn the magazine if i am in a lobby or office with nothing else sports related, and don't listen to espn the radio (it stinks).

Yeah I was talking to Molta mostly. But you cant tell me, that the NBA wouldn't love the Suns in the title game against a Detroit team that is a complete contrast in styles. I just don't buy into fans today wanting to see an OLD Celtics team get ran off the court. True storied franchises, but it won't matter, I dont think the Celts can get there. Though I would like to see KG get a ring.

There is no viable alternative because they are the No. 1 sports media in the world. As for the Magazine, far superior writers and much better info. iMHO, they are not No. 1 for nothing. I bet you are a Jim Rome fan aren't you?

i like rome but don't listen much.

espn's radio personalities don't do much for me. i'd rather listen to weei out of boston or the FAN out of new york. just a personal preference.

Same way with me, I listen to Cowherd, and I like Steven A Smith. But Mike & Mike etc dont do much for me. I live in Texas so I try to pick up the Animal out of OKC etc. I do hear you though in regards to personalities on ESPN.
