Obviously Kobe has put together a better resume throughout a longer career, but another stat to think about with regard to clutch players is this one:

This year in 4th quarter or overtime, less than 5 minutes left, neither team ahead by more than 5 points

    James 1.17 points/minute on 47.5% shooting
    Bryant 1.08 points/minute on 44.8% shooting

Is LeBron overrated? Of course he is, but I don't think it's as bad as some people would like to make it out to be.

not to mention that Lebron's cavs beat Kobe and the lakers twice this year...and if I remember correctly Lebron came thru big in the clutch with kobe missing some big shots...outscored him in both games as well

Imagine if LeBron had anything but 13 stiffs on his roster? Just one Gasol or Odom or Shaq or Pippen.....he has done more than anyone, at his age, with a lot less than anyone.

he took a team that would have won 20 games in the east w/out him to the nba finals last year.

if he is a failure for not winning a title before the age of 23, i don't know what to tell you guys.
I DONT THINK THAT TEAM WOULD HAVE WON 10 GAMES THIS YEAR WITHOUT HIM

Yeah, but I think the only reason he should get consideration is that he's the best player on the #1 seed in the East. Otherwise, he missed 11 games, he had his lowest rebounding average since 96-97, and he had his lowest blocks average of his career.

Garnett is having a good year and playing a perfect role for the Celtics with his career high in FG% and near career low in TOs, but his numbers don't scream MVP, especially compared to the numbers he put up in his 03-04 MVP season.

Boston was (12-4) against Western Conference Playoff teams this year. Maybe the West isn't as bad ass as you think.

On the Flip side, the Top Seeded L.A. Lakers from the West were only (9-7) vs Eatern Conference Playoff teams. Nothing special. The Top teams in the East are just as good as anyone from the West.

I wouldn't be counting the kick ass Celtics out just yet!

1 rebound short of a triple double tonight, and only 1 turnover...fucking bum! Change his nickname to Queen!
