Lebron is the most exciting player to watch in the league, at 23 I'd say he is real damn good. Don't need to compare him to anyone, the guy is a beast for being so young. Of course the media hypes him, he fills the seats like no other and re-energized a horrible basketball team all by himself. Give him time...and hopefully one decent teamatte along his journey.

And as far as Stevenson, please, the only person he psychs out is himself.

In what post did I call you any names? Did I call you any names? I gave you my opinion and that was it? Your right, Stern wouldn't want James in the Finals, he would rather have a Pierce, Allen, Garnett.....because they are the future of the league? Trust me, the Cavs will make it to the Eastern Conf Finals, not because they belong there, but because the NBA NEEDS them there for ratings...do you ever read your response. Your ability to call people names for their opinions shows me just how intelligent you are. IMHO

ELJUGO just verified what I am trying to get through to you (without calling you names) Jive. James puts butts in the seats.....the NBA needs him like the Tour needs Tiger. James is the future.......unfortunately all his fans and the media want the future now. He just isn't there.

Yes they have. Magic Johnson. IMO Magic is a better player than LeBron.

Great point. Who else goes into the hall of fame as a point guard that played Center in a finals and was named MVP. Magic was and always will be one of my top 5 players i've ever seen.

IMO many of the LeBron fans are too young to remember the greatness of Magic. Most probably had no idea Magic started a game at center in the NBA finals. In that game he scored 42 points with 15 rebounds.

Sooner, the NBA will do so much better with a Lakers/Celtics final than the Cavs getting there against anyone.

And in your rehashed material on LeBron, you forgot to mention he doesn't smile as I believe that was part of your diatribe a year ago.....

Your right Frank.....that is the biggest problem with your question. Most of these guys on here, have never seen greatness other then MJ. Magic, Bird, Dr J, David Thompson, Wilt, you can go on and on.......they never got a chance to see any of these players at their prime. Like I said earlier, I would take Magic over James any day. He made others around him so much better. Actually, you can see a bit of it in Chris Paul this year, West would have never had an All Star year without Paul. So I am going to officially call Paul GREAT lol. Oh, IMHO.........Oh and Three Jack, I don't believe the new OLD Celtics vs the Lakers is even close to what the NBA wants for a finals. It doesnt matter, those two wont make it anyways. I noticed tonight you didn't give us your "Lebron is great defense" like you did a year ago......

This is a rehashed argument...but if you want my $.02 (if it is even worth that, here it is, and it hasn't changed:
'Great' is the most over used and mis used word in sport today.
LebRon is not 'Great' by all-time standards only because he has only done it for 5 yrs, but he is by today's watered down standards of the term.
                        There is only one MJ.
I agree that Great players make other better...but LeBron has garbage around him. G-A-R-B-A-G-E.
IMO, He is one of the top two players in the league, the other being Kobe.
He is something that the league has not seen - a super athletic 6'8" freight train.
Zeib brought up Wade...yep, he has his ring...so does Udonis Haslem, so is he better the LeBron? LeBron has almost better stats than Wade across the board, including a far superior 3 pt shooter, which I even found to be surprising (32% vs 25% - if LeBron is bad, is Wade 'awful'???). Wade is a top 5 player, and is 'great' by today's standard but he is fragile and that has to be part of the equation if you are comparing the two. Wade has missed significant time in 3 out of 5 years in the NBA. LeBron has missed less than 20 games in 5 years.

                        All rehashed from last year.

                          He can't shoot.

He drives to the basket and gets every call.

                          NBA Championships:
                          D Wade - 1
                          Lebron - 0

he doen't make his team better????????

he took a team that would have won 20 games in the east w/out him to the nba finals last year.

if he is a failure for not winning a title before the age of 23, i don't know what to tell you guys.

OOOH, I am sorry, NO wants to see Phoenix or you don't think they would want to see New Orleans (even though they wont) America goes bonkers for New Orleans given their situation in that city. Why would the TV execs want to see a Lakers, Spurs or Suns beat up on Boston in 5 games? People act like this is the Boston of Old.....they are OLD but it isn't the old team. I feel sorry for KG to be "teased" like this. Paul Pierce will resort back to his "ball hog" self, and Ray Allen, that is along time for Jesus to be playing on those ol legs.. They better hope for a Detroit Eastern Championship, because anyone else will be toast against the West.........but hey if Sports Illustrated said it, it must be gospel. I prefer ESPN the magazine myself. lol
