i explained this before and i will again for all the hillbillies in the crowd....(KB and JC listen up......Why do all hillbillies have a 2letter nickname.....KB, JC, JR, TJ, etc.)
My mother grew up in Brockton, Mass. My dad is from Leominster, Mass and moved to Hartford, CT when he was a teen.
traditionally young sons adopted their fathers teams. It was a right of passage. i was born in 1964 and the baseball team was the Red Sox and was a no-brainer.
However, back then in the northeast the NFL team was the Giants and the AFL Pats were simply viewed as a minor league franchise. This changed when i was a little older, but I had already been a Giants fan. I went to my 1st game at Yankee Stadium in 1969 when i was 5.
So that is the story fucknuts....Also when people live in Hartford it is about 50/50 Yankee/Red Sox because we are 90 miles from each....
