Dice K is going to be in the rotation all year. You can't tell me that about Jaba. I am not going to have him make 8 starts and move to the pen.

If he is the next coming like you say he is going to be as a starter, you should not be concerned.

If a GM was told that there were 3 pitchers on the FA market and he had to pick one while knowing only one stat from each, who would he choose?

The guy with an era under 4?

The guy with 200+ K's?

The guy with 20 wins?

I bet the guy with 20 wins would get chosen 9 out of 10 times!

Strikeouts mean that a guy is missing bats and not putting his defense into play . Even Maddux has eclipsed 200 Ks at least once in his career and come close a number of times. If I'm a GM, I look at K/9, BB/9, and HR/9 first and put those other stats secondary.

If you are a 20 game winner, chances are you are close to 235 innings...so a non-strikeout picher could still get close to 200 K's.
