If you want to let your logic, a case could be made for letting David Ortiz go, as he seems to be injury prone and his homeruns are down although average is up.

Yes......any trade can go either way for sure.....

I'm talking about (for the right deal) trading a guy who is getting older and is playing better than what he is (due to the lineup) where you can actually get superior value in return...


The difference with papi and him is the ortiz is a DH and will probably not wear down.....and lowell does not get pitched around....

I love Lowell too, but if i were the GM his would be the name i would be dangling for sure....

Lowell probably wants something like a 4 year 40-48 million deal. It's too much and more importantly, too long a deal to accept. Get rid of Lowell, Schilling & Clement and you have more than 30 million to sign A-Rod. When Manny's contract is up a year later, take that 20 million and sign another top line FA Pitcher!

Ok-Arod and I agree. ARod is still the best all around player in the game.
I would let Schilling go way before Lowell at this point considering his age;its a no brainer.
