  • [QUOTE=wayne1218]Damn these kids for Boston are looking GREAT!

C Kevin Cash (Doing a great job behind the plate)
OF Ellsbury (1st ML HR Today and a GREAT catch as well)
SP Buchholz (No hittet, 'NUFF SAID)
    SP Lester (bright future ahead)
    OF Moss (Great Speed)
RP Okajima (All Star Setup man as a Rookie)
SP Dice-K (All numbers are off the chart for Rookies and wins will come with run support)
Closer Papelbon (Best Closer in the game)
2B Pedroia (Just having a great 1st year at 2B)

    Wayne-

It is soooo funny you wrote this. I was just telling my mother how fun it is to watch these kids.....

I was telling my buddy before the trade for Gagne that i did not want him. I think i posted it here too.....

We would have Lester, Gabbard, Buckholtz and Paps for years to come.....

My absolute favorite is Pedroia...He has big balls for a guy his size....He is a dirtballer.....(i call guys like him and Eckstein.....but he has waaaaay more talent than Eckstein)....

I am not huge on Cash because i would like a little more offensive production from the Catcher.....He stirkes out almost 1 of every 2 times up and 1 for 3 in his career.....But i can not complain how he has played behind the dish......

I would rather see young guys than washed up vets.....

    • Seems like he's having a quiet year. Maybe I'm wrong.

      • I agree tony about Cash. He is not good at the plate but he is better than Bard & Varitek @ one thing ... catching Wakefield!

that is very true.....I do not what is up with Tek...He has left so many runners stranded this year....strikes out a bunch and hits into more double plays than Mo Vaughan

                • Hey Wayne, I have a question for ya. What do you expect out of Buchholz the rest of the year? I am thinking of picking him up in my league but I realize he's only been an A-Ball pitcher so far. Figured I'd ask a RedSox fanatic what this kid will do in the short term. Thanks

                  • He should gets starts with the injuries going on. If he does, he would be a very solid pickup and he'll have a nice shot to win every time out. Good K's potentially too cuz his stuff is nasty!

The future looks bright Sox fans!
And there is still more on the farm too! I agree with Tony, Pedroia is so much fun to watch. He reminds me of a better (much better) Wally Backman...just a flat out pain in the ass! He is so good and so underated defensively.

And it is a good thing that these guys have stepped up 'cause Theo has not done a very god job of 'reloading' this team through trades and free agency.

Well that was part of the problem 3J. Theo could have done alot more but he chose to hang on to some of these kids instead of dealing them. Maybe that means nothing was everything. You know?
