I will tell ya what i will do Dimer.. IF Joba is a starter next season (Which it all points that he will) I will make a little wager with ya.. I will take Joba and you can have Clay.. We will go with ERA and Strikeouts.. If I win one and you win one then its a push if you win both you win. If i win both I win.. If you want I will even let you make the $ wager.. Its your call

            • plus coco crisp, ellsbury and brandon moss.....(all young)

              youk, pedroia (all young)

** i suggest we trade lowell offseason while he still has trade value......gives flexibility to trade for a 3rd baseman or 1st baseman since youk can play either/or

*** i suggest we all chip in for a mob hit on JD Drew.....I just have never liked that unemotional type of approach......His agent said he was good for 20-25 dongs, 100rbi's, 15-20 sb's and .280-.300 BA (great year to have all time lows.....but with our luck we dump him (a la renteria) and he hits 30 hrs next year......i think there is something to certain guys being NL players.....

yes.....the future is bright in Beantown

Dimer, this is coming from a guy who said these two things don't matter and only wins do when talking about Dice-K. It's funny how he wants to turn to both stats when proposing a wager though while leaving wins out!

                  • Before we crown anyone Cy Young winners lets get a few innings under our belts.....Many pitchers (ask Josh Beckett last year) find success the first time through the AL and then get their tits lit up (sorry TMAC) the second time through.....

Do we both have a good reason to be excited? Yes....

Also Dice K has an era under 4.....Pitching in the MLB is a big adjustment....I would not be surprised if he has a breakout type season next year

Tony-in all due respect I couldn't disagree more about Lowell;for my money he is easily the MVP on the Sox this year, and it would take an unbelieveable offer to let him go.

I love Lowell......but realistically after this year he is getting long in the tooth......Unfortunately you have to make trades when there is still value......JMHO.....I think his name was bantied about this year as well......

I also think he is an MVP.......but we would be selling high here

                        • Let Lowell go. He will want a multi year deal and his age will catch up to him. Sign A-Rod!

It is hard to let good guys go....but #1 Lowell will want big cheddar for the numbers he has put up

                            #2 Go for AROD

Yes-his name was bandied around last year, and I SCREAMED-DON'T DO IT.
I can almost guarantee you considering the overall subpar performances o of Manny and Ortiz this year, Sox would NOT be in first place at this juncture if Lowell had not played here this season.

That is probably the only player I would accept in his place at this juncture!
