Rook, The game wasn't even on T.V. up here for me and usually all Michigan games are. As I told Joe a year ago, my best friend who is 35 woke up one day a year ago and his fiance was lying in the bed beside him and she was dead. He called an ambulance and rushed her to the hospital and there was nothing they could do for her. After 6 months they still were not sure exactly what caused her death. She was only 38. The kicker to this whole story is that they had not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 kids. A 13 year old girl, an 8 year old girl and 2 year old twins (boy & girl). It was a devastating blow to say the least. Life has been extremely hard for him since then. She was a stay at home mom and he worked an hour away from home. Everybody has been trying to help him get through this situation and get to a point where he can handle it all. He was living in an apartment and he finally found and bought a really nice 5 bedroom house a month ago. Yesterday, was the move in day. It has been a journey for him that i wouldn't wish on anyone but he is now closer to work and closer to where i live too. It was a great day seeing how excited those kids were yesterday and even though it was the 1st day of CFB, i couldn't do anything but be there for him and help in any way. Sorry to go on so long but you could really do a story or movie about this guy and what he has been through in the last 12 months. He deserves an award for just "Keeping it together" all this time.Originally posted by TheRook

Thanks kb, it was crazy. I'll never forget that phone call on a early friday morning. His girls woke up for school, looked for mom, and had to be told she died and they'll never see her again. By far, the saddest funeral ever.Originally posted by kbsooner21Comment

I know it was North Texas and all, but I really was worried how our qb would play. It will be a lot tougher test against the size and speed of Miami's D, but I was really impressed with his debut.
