It means something, but a pitcher has much more control over his ERA, Ks, BBs, Hs than wins. And yet every year they give out the Cy Young based on wins.

It's only fair to you doc cuz you set the fucken guidelines that nobody else agreed too. When people mix a little of their thoughts in with yours, you want no part of it.

Fuck it, i'm done and this is exactly what i'm talking about. You open your fucken mouth and can't back peddle fast enough every time. Whatever .......

Huh? Wins and ERA are indicative of how lucky a pitcher is. Ks are one of the only factors that a pitcher can actually control himself.

I agree with your statement but you could be a strikeout pitcher and not be a very good pitcher. Is James Shields the 9th best pitcher in baseball? Well he is 9th in K's....

What is the VERY 1ST thing the Hall of Fame looks at when deciding on a Starting Pitcher for the Hall?

                    Let me help, WINS!

A guy can give up 5 runs in a inning while striking out the side. Does that make him a great pitcher?

guess what...a guy with 300 wins and a ERA with a 8.74 aint getting into the hall of fame

                          Next question

I agree that wins alone can be deceiving due to run support. So that is why I included ERA. Who care sif you strike guys out or not. Some of the greates pitchers of all time did not strike a lot of guys out...but they certainl had low ERA's and a lot of wins!

                            • In my opinion it makes him a crappy pitcher who is also really unlucky.
