When a team (LSU) loses a heartbreaker on the road to #2 they should not be disqualifed from the top-10. The pollster put too much emphasis on losses. IMO they should have remained in the poll where there were prior to last weeks loss. LSU could have won that game with the correct call at the end of the game. They should drop out of the top-10 due to bad calls from the ref? No way.
How many of your top-10 teams could beat LSU straight up in a neutral stadium? The top 10 should be the 10 best teams in the country irregardless of losses.
blah blah blah and if my aunt had a package she'd be my uncle. l'ville, wva, mich would beat LSU on a netural field IMO
BTW Miami is not in the top-25. Which makes Louisville's win nothing special. We'll see how good Louisville and West Va. are in a few weeks when they play each other. The loser will drop from the top-10.
why would they drop outta the top 10 with a loss if you say lsu shouldnt or texas, makes no sense. L'ville and WVA will both be top 7 or higher when they meet. so going by your standards a loss shouldnt bouce them outta the top 10......its only 1 loss right??
PS i love these discussions cause you can get so many different takes.
They lost by 4 points on the road to the #2 ranked team. It was a game the very well could have won with the correct call.
Using your logic Auburn only scored 7 points so they shouldn't be ranked #2. Michigan scored 47. Does that mean they should be ranked #1 because they scored more than Ohio St, USC and Auburn?
I do think it is laughable that Auburn could only score 7, thats a joke to me. My logic is this Frank, your record matters 1st, who you play a very close 2nd, who you have beaten. And this aint horse shoes so being close doesnt count. Lsu beat LA.Layfette and Arizona and lost to Auburn. Louisville beat KY, Temple and Miami. Sorry, they have one decent win, we have one decent, and one good, and no losses. Are we better than LSU, i dont know. I would love to play them, but right now i think we have a WAY better offensne, a defense that is not nearly as good as the Tigers, but is no slouch. And i really like our Head coach over theres. So in my humble opionion, we should be ranked right now ahead of them, same as Texas
U are drunk as shit if you think Texas is the 3rd best team in the Big 12. I hate Texas and was pleased to see Ohio ST whoop them, but they are the best team in the big 12.
OU doesnt have a real loss, but they will when they play Texas @ Red River. I dont even wanna hear who u think is the other best team in the league. Probably broke ass Nebraska...yeah right.
I will be pulling this thread up in late October when UT goes to NU and works their ass.
This is the dumbest thread b/c the TOP 10 is meaningless...therefore who cares who is 8, 9, 10.
Wow, sorry for going off, no need for all that. Peace.

Exactly Brian, he thinks traditional big boys can take a loss versus a quality opponent and stay in the top 10. But that logic doesnt apply to Big East.
Franks an SEC typical homer, cant see the woods cause of the tree's.
None of this shit matters cause we dont have a play off system. So we will never no if A can beat B, or it B can beat C

Its not a dumb thread, its people discussing their opinion. Agree or disagree, thats the point

texas is IMO the 2nd or 3rd best big12 team this year. OU owns texas. except last year. my point is this. Texas got their asses handed to them @ home vs. ohio st. and nebraska lost by 18 @ USC. is usc not a top 3 team?? yep. so how is nebraska not ranked in top 10 but texas is??? and i dont even like nebraska. i'm just stating the facts. OU should be undefeated. do i think they are better than texas. maybe. will see. my point is a 1 loss texas shouldnt be in the top 10. no way no how.

JC, don't get me wrong. I think L'ville is a top-10 team. That being said I'm not impressed with their win over Miami. Miami has proven and will continue to show they are an average team this season.
IMO this thread will have more meaning in a few weeks after more teams have played each other. We'll weed out the has beens.

What makes you think I'm a SEC homer? Because I live in Florida.
That's not true at all. I grew up on Long Island. I do NOT root for any college team. I am not a fan of any college football team.
I always root against the Florida teams. I usually root for the underdog. Sometime, while I'm watching a game I'll change who I root for depending how the game is played. I watch college games as a football fan.
To be honest I'm more objective than you and others because I'm not a fan of any team so I'm not influenced.
Same in the NFL. I'm a Giant fan. I root against all Florida team.
OU owns texas. except last year. my point is this.
Bry, IMO that's part of the problem with the polls. Teams get ranked based on history. What happened last year and the past few years has no bearing on this season.
ohio state is #1 and no one can argue that right now but from then on every other position you could argue till the cows come home its still early in the season so rankings dont mean too much
miami U has 2 losses so that win isnt as impressive considering FLA ST beat them in MIAMI . tHE POLLS ARENT THAT FAR OFF....IF louisville keeps blowing people away they will move up. The end of the season is really the only time to see the flaws as the season pans out.
