I stopped reading right here. It isn't their choice once addicted but once again, we are not talking about that. Was it his choice the 1st time to try crack? That is the question we have for Chad and you i guess. He has never answered it because "Admission" is a stage i guess he hasn't reached yet.

let's say your sick wayne, you have been out of work for a full month, your considering taking a leave of absence, every day you feel more tired, sore and just flat out sick. You have absolutely no idea what is going on with your body, but you know something is wrong so you go to the DR and let's say he says ohh you have this new thing called waynitis, there is a new medication for that. You are going to take it aren't you ? I KNOW.

Why do Judges wait for a mental evaluation before sentencing someone to death....

Why are they in such demand in the USA,(there's a shortage), to help people like yourself talk about personal problems in the confines of a closed room, where you can get some benefit from it, and not argue childishly in an open forum, and make a bufoon of yourself.....

Can't get into ones head heh, why do women go to PHD's in Counseling for Post Mortum Depression....They must be able to understand part of what's in their heads....they get cured....

How about War Time Vets, coming from the front....the first thing they do is go through Mental Hygiene....shrinks....to ease their minds, and these pros can get in their heads to help em....

He is a hero to drug addicts. Why else would he be a hero to others who didn't destroy their own lives? Because he plays baseball?

Because he had every opportunity to give up his dream and he didn't. I don't care who you are or what you do he's an inspiration to never give up.
Some people can't get past the fact that he used crack cocaine....that was his choice and a bad one, no one is going to dispute that. But in my opinion of heroism, his accomplishments now are only more astounding because of his former crack addiction.

I think its pretty sad to say that he's only a hero to drug addicts, do you think there are drug addicts out there right now who are currently "trying" to quit because of josh hamilton? maybe??? but I doubt another man's story is going to provide a great enough influence to help them through there own problems....

so who's your hero? batman? ironman ? this is ridiculous maybe my love of sports is outweighing the real issue here, but to say he's only a role model for recovering addicts is pretty closed minded....I'd say our entire country is made up of addicts; drugs & alcohol, gambling, money/power, sex etc,.
According to you a hero is someone who does things the right way...welll we're talking about someone who has now done things the right way. he turned to his grandma when he was at his absolute lowest and promised her he would never touch crack again, and he continues to live up to that promise every single day.....this is not the lawrence taylor story alright,

hamilton made a mistake, which makes him human. hamilton then had to overcome a mountain of a mistake, to re-establish himself as a great baseball player. now a HERO to many other human beings who have made mistakes in life.

Unlike half of our TMZ possessed world, I don't look up to the scumbags in Hollyweird. I don't look at professional athletes just b/c the can hit a ball or catch a pass. Plenty of them are good people, but not heroes to me. Heroes are the everyday people that work hard, do the right thing, help others, and have a positive contribution to this world.
