It's becoming more and more apparent that Girardi has lost this team and they are not playing for him anymore. You have pitchers fighting with catcher's to the degree that it's now being talked about in the press and no manager worth his salt would allow that. The pitching coach can't seem to get the pitcher's to attack the strike zone, the hitting coach can't seem to help anyone what with AFRAUD hitting .091 in the last 10 games. The losing seems to be a total effort on everyone's part and as Michael Kay summed it up tonight "The Yankees have lost 2 of 3 inexplainably and inexcusably to the Nationals". I don't advocate throwing in the towel but someone needs to stick a number of sticks of dynamite under this team because currently the worst team in baseball isn't the Nationals, rather it's the team that just lost 2 of 3 to them.

The Yankees could solve all their problems with one swift change. And that is firing Girardi, he just isn't cut out for the job, and I don't care how long he's been there. He's had enough time to prove something, and he hasn't. The Yankees season is not lost yet. And there is plenty of time left. They don't need to wait 'till the end of the season, and would be served 10 times over if they cut ties with Joe now. Now would be a perfect time to do it as well. It would serve as a great "WAKE UP" to the entire team.

For the record: I hate the Yanks, and actually enjoy watching their 250 million dollar team flounder around out there losing series to the Nats.

The problem with the Yankees is two-fold:

        1. Girardi can't manage and that is obvious! The fact the Yanks just lost 2 of 3 at home against the bad news bears is enough to fire him!

        2. The front office - what made the Yankees such an incredible organization in the past was their ability to identify and secure young raw talent and develop them through the farm system. Now it seems as if they spend little time developing the youth for their own club and instead go after and over pay a bunch of guys who, in some cases, may be "has-beens". Sabathia is a perfect example of this. They paid this guy record money because they thought he was a dominating pitcher but few, if any, took the time to understand the circumstances. Sabathia dominated the worst hitting division in the majors (AL Central) but everytime he stepped away from that division the good hitting teams were able to make him work. So how on earth do you justify paying this guy all of this money to bring him into the most powerful hitting division in the league, especially when he has to face these teams several times in a season?? He may be able to tip-toe around these teams when he only has to face them once in a season while pitching in a different division but when he has to face them 3, 4 or even 5 times in a season - forget about it!! I went on record immediately and said this deal would blow up in their faces and in my opinion it already has!!

          I agree wholeheartedly.
All I can say is tht minute I heard that Yankees had not rehired Joe Torre and were going to replace him with Girardi, as a Sox fan I breathed a sigh of relief.
From my point of view they were "trading in" a vintage Mercedes for a used Chevy.

This is bullshit I am tired of this shit. I’m tired of this team not pitching and hitting in the same game. Good lord, how can a team as talented as the Yankees not fucking hit a baseball? For god sakes this is bullshit. I’m tired of watching this same shit happen year after year. We finally get some pitching and now all of the sudden we can’t hit and I’m not talking about just this year I’m talking more about last year because we didn’t even score 800 runs for the first time in years last year. Complete and utter bullshit and I’m tired of watching the same failure year after year.

When are we going to get a manager that knows what the fuck he’s doing? I could manage the Yankees and do a better job than Joke Girardi.

The Yankees will probably lose AGAIN on Tuesday! We’ll probably get 3 hits off Hanson. Wang will be OK, but he’ll still give up a few runs. End of Story!! Then the cycle starts all over again. We will probably be 10 games back by the break. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for our rotation to be this LAME. A rotation with CC, Wang, AJ, Joba, & Pettitte SHOULD be the fucking 9th wonder of the world!!! 3 of those 5 guys should ALREADY HAVE 10 WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We should’ve been 10 games ahead in our division a month ago and we should just continue to keep it rolling right to the end of the World Series. What is wrong with these clowns???

Not to mention our line-up SHOULD make ALL opposing pitchers wet themselves!! There should be groundskeepers spreading diamond-dry on the hill between every inning because of all the urine! I wish Buck Showalter was our manager. He would be in these underachieving BUMS’ faces, cursing the day they were all born and straightening them the FUCK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is that unlike Theo and the Red Sox, Cashman and the Yankees are clueless as to build a top notch team.
Just because a player make a lot of money and performed well for another team doesn't mean he will perform well in New York.
Sadly(and gladly as a Sox fan), since they last won the World series in 2000, they have tried the same failed methods of trying to build a championship team over and over again;perhaps just perhaps they should take a lesson from teams like the Red Sox.
It goes without saying that even if the team has the necessary talent to win a WS,which is possible), but then to let a HOF manager go and replace him with a lightweight who is mediocre at best, is beyond stupidity-try running a Mercedes with a VW engine and see what happens.

All over the radios today they are talking about an article from SI, where Girardi was not even part of the decision to rest A-Rod. Also, that Girardi had no idea he was "tired" until he told the media so. The lack of communication is unbelievable. A-Rod you're TIRED??????? Tired???

You get paid tens of millions of dollars to play A GAME for HALF the year, and now not only that, but you get to take one day off a week????? ONE GAME OFF A WEEK?? A-Rod, man up and go fucking play the game you get paid a hundred million dollars to play. I hate the Yankees so much, and this A-Rod crying "boo hoo" stuff is hard to watch and listen to everyday.

                              Doesn't A-Rod work 3 hours a day? I would be exhausted too!

Yes, and half his his work consists of standing in the field and maybe once every 7 or 8 outs fielding ball, and the other half sitting on the bench for half the game waiting to bat, then getting up to bat, then returning to the dugout to sit down, but not running because he certainly never hits the ball.
