To be perfectly fair and honest, when I wrote my initial post, I never thought for one minute that they would get to the WS.
I thought they were a lot better than most people thought they would be, that it would be a an enjoyable season compared to the last two(which isn't saying much), and perhaps if they got lucky or some other teams faltered, they had an outside chance for the playoffs.
Never in my wildest dreams that I think they would get to the WS let alone win it.
Ben Cherington did a remarkable team of putting this team together and concentrated on the intangibles as well as the tangibles-he hired a manager who knew how to get it done with a great group of dedicated and team oriented players-a totally remarkable achievement for all concerned in such a short period of time.
To use the word "treat" for fans and even for those who aren't fans of the Sox doesn't begin to express/do justice to what we all just saw and experienced.
