    FYI:

    MONDAY'S PLAYS (02-27):

    {CBB-PLAYS}

*Special-TOP RATED BIG SKY GAME OF THE WEEK: (5 Units)

    Mont St -2 (buy .5pt..for 3 units)...and added 2 units at -3

This game has a lot of confusion and implications which not only involve these two teams but the game between Idaho St and E Wash....However, this one can all be put to rest simply with a Bobcat win..and I like that Fact.

Currently, both the Bobcats and the Hornets are in a slide of late...with the Hornets coming off of a 20 pt home loss to N Ariz, which was also the biggest ass spanking they got at home under Coach Jenkins....and this loss makes it number 8 out of the last 9 games they played...Mont St, meanwhile, has also lost 5 of their last 6 games played and is coming off a ass spanking themselves in their lost at E Wash, also on Saturday...But it should also be noted that 4 of those 5 losses for the Bobcats were on the road, where they are just 3-8 this year...and that the Bobcats, are a solid 11-3 at home, where this showdown is going to be played..

Sure, some will say that the Hornets are good on the road because they have enjoyed more success away from home this season (7-8) than in any other season since joining Div 1 in 1991...But, excluding those other wins, it should also be noted that the Hornets are 3-3 on the road this year in Conf play...and that those 3 wins were against the bottom dwellers in the conference in Weber St, Idaho St, and Portland St....

Tonight, they need to take a step up in competition and do it against this Bobcat team, who was picked to finish 1st in both the Big Sky preseason and coaches polls...Not to mention, against a team who they couldnt beat on their own floor back on Jan 19th....Another reason, why they also is going to have their hands full tonight is the fact that this is also Senior Night for 4 players on this Bobcat team...and 3 of them averaging double figures..in G Ja'Ron Jefferson (14.6 ppg), F Marvin Moss (11.8 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and C Al Beye (11.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg).

One thing to note about this Sac St team is the fact, that after they started the season off going 4-1 in conference play...there fall is alittle mindboggling because they did this without one of their studs in Sr Harris (avg 14 ppg) (selected by several to be this years Big Sky player of the year), who missed these first 5 conf games due to academics...Yet since his return they have now gone 1-7, with him scoring in double digits just 4 times during this span...Interesting, because it falls under team chemistry..which was established when he was out...but upon his (the Stars) return, that chemistry is all messed up...And based on this terrible slide the Hornets are on, it doesnt seem that they have found a cure with him in the mix of yet...This kind of thing can and does happen in these situations...ie, remember the movie the Replacements, when All-Pro QB Martell crossed over to re-joined his team..which had created alot of chemistry with Keanu Reeves QB'ing them.....Well, I know that is the movies..but thought everyone would understand and be able to relate to this more....Plus, my brain is farting right now..and I cant think of a real life situation where this has happened....LOL...But believe me it does...Some teams cant play or find chemistry to be successful throughout when they got a super star on it...Just look at the LA Fakers!

Anyways, here is yet another reason why I like the Bobcats tonight as well...is that the Bobcats are averaging a conf best 8.15 three-pionters per game...as 6 different players have drained at least 8 Bombs this season from downtown...Also, more than 30% of the Bobcats FG's in conf play have come from long range...Annnnd, at Home they are hitting an average of 9 Bombs..and doing it at an average of 40% as well...Bombs Away Baby!

Side Note: The Bobcats at home also averaging 76.9 ppg, shooting 49% overall...while holding opponents to just 33.1 rpg...They also are averaging 17 assist per game at home, and also just 13 TO's...

Side Note: The Hornets, have now been outboarded in 10 of their last 11 games...and 6 of these games they grabbed just 29 or less rebounds as well....

Sac St in their last 5 games is 1-4, and allowed opponents to average 77.8 ppg and 40 rpg in this span...In addition, on the road, they allowed opponents to average 78.2 ppg and shoot a solid 49%....This also goes along with their poor averaged of just 10 assist and committing an average of 23 PF's on the Road, as well....Not Good!

Some Stats, Trends, and Info I like....

-Montana State bids farewell to four seniors on Monday, hoping to secure at least one more home game
-MSU leads the Big Sky in 3-pointers per game and is second in 3-pt pctg
-The Bobcats are 8-3 this year when shooting more FTs than the opponent
-The 'Cats forced 10 or fewer turnovers in five of the last six games
-Al Beye is 31-for-45 shooting (69%) in the last four games, the rest of the team 44%
-Montana State is 8-3 when grabbing more rebounds than the opponent
-Sac St just 2-7 as a Dog...and 9-33 their last 42 games in this role.
-Sact St just 2-4 ATS and 1-5 in Feb.
-Sact St just 2-6 ATS and 1-7 off a loss vs conf opponent.
-Mont St 5-2 ATS vs teams with winning records.
-Mont St already beat Sac St at Sac by 3pts....where they shot 51.9%, 42%..and out boarded them by 5 in the win.

    Bottom Line:

Yes Mont St has already clinched a tourney berth...however they still have alot of incentive to get this one tonight...if not for this also Senior Night...a win here would give them an all important 1st round home game...

This Bobcat team and their fans had high hopes as they again, predicted to finish first in the conf...and thus get to the big dance...But, now with their situation, if they still want to go dancing and make their fans happy...they need to first get this one in a big way...I know that this one is played indoors..but damn, a Cali team traveling to the frigid 20-below temperatures in Bozeman, is a chilling thought, huh.....Do you think the warm weather Hornets could suffer a bit of frost bite as they make their way to the arena...Probably not, but what could be just as chilling affect is their being limited to any 2nd-chance opportunities by 6-11 C Al Beye (11.6 ppg, 5.9 rpg) down low...Now that is what I see happening tonight....Attention Bozeman fans, keep the doors open throughout the game and let that clean, frigid air in all game long...LOL....All BOBCATS TONIGHT!

    *REGULAR PLAY ON: (2 Units)

    Oklahoma -8 +100

Gang, March is approaching very fast...Time now to jump on board...and start making that run again to "The Madness"....Solid Plays Packages for "the Madness" up and available at an early Special price rate and which includes these type of Second To None Write-Ups backing up my plays as well....If you like that, then Hop on and LETS GO SINK EM!

                      {CBB-Plays}

"BIG GAME PLAY"-DOUBLE REVENGE GAME OF THE MONTH: (8 Units)

                      Jacksonville St -4

-Ok I released several solid investment plays on these Gamecocks over the past month (see below) and it is because I see several important factors and keys that this team possesses...and these things, nowadays is very hard to find from a team, who to me, has the potential to be a solid investment team to get on (see below and you will see the past months investments made on these Gamecocks, which were All Documented and which brought home the $$$ overall)

In today's match-up, we also are fortunate in that we get to side with a team who will be playing with A-LOOOOOT OF REVENGE on their minds...The last time these two met back on Feb 15th, in the Gamecocks coup,....they fell short of getting a chance for the win and a cover, when a Zebra called a foul at half-court with just 1.2 secs left in regulation... and this all after the Gamecocks got back huge momentum with a big run to tie the game up as well...Oh well, unfortunately that is how this game goes sometimes...and you learn from it and move on, right?.....Bullshit!.....That may be the case most times with teams, as the past is the past...However, that last lost for the Gamecocks with just 1.2 seconds left put a rather bad taste in their mouths and put a chip on their shoulders at the same time....Why, cause that win would of secured the 4th spot for them, which meant they wouldnt have had to close out the season with so much stress and anxiety....But they did face that anxiety with a vengence on their minds..and went on to win 3 straight...E Kent had their chances to close out the season and take the 4th spot, but they blew it with their home loss to Tenn St....So, this matchup or should I say 3RD REMATCH, was one sign that a Gamecock Double Revenger had been set to occur.

So tonight, we live in the past with the Gamecocks as the past lost,..moreso the past two losses this year to these Colonels is what gives them a huge motivational edge as they go out to get their Double Revenge!

Like the last game...these two teams, as mentioned, are almost fully dependant and reliant on their Backcourt to win games for them....Yes Gang, today again is about the guys handling the Rock....And, I feel that JSU Gamecocks holds the decided advantage in this department even more so, because this is a Senior led team...This game is being played in their own chicken coup....And, this is a Do-Or-Die game....Below are the tough and talent Gamecock Bloodlines, which is again the reason why I love them again tonight...

                      Jacksonville St's Senior Backcourt:

Jacksonville St returns 5 starters from last seasons team....and 3 of them are starting Senior Guards in Russell, Spencer, and Wilson....In total though, the Gamecocks have 5 senior guards, who at one time or another have seen action and made major contributions....Of the 5 Senior Guards, 4 of them saw action in all games last season....And this goes along well, as on the rooster for the Gamecocks are 9 players with starting experience...This is something that can only be considered a positive plus for any team to possess....Unless, of course, they all suck shit and couldnt hit a shot even if the rims were lowered to eye level....LOL..jk.

Anyways, on the Hardcourt...Guard play determines alot of the outcome of games...And JSU, possesses one of the most seasoned backcourts in the OVC this year....And, this backcourt who leads this Gamecock team as they sit alone in the 4th spot in the conf....will again be looked upon to lead the way....

*SR G Russell ....aka "The General" (these are my own personal nick-names for them...)

-This boy is the leader of the Gamecocks and has been for the past 3 seasons now...And having this type of experienced PG leading the way is so very important to the success of any team...He's the floor General out there...and so far he has been doing a superb job....Here is his stats and what he has accomplished so far, which brings to this game alot of solid benefits to why I see the Gamecocks getting this one..

Russell is currently leading the OVC conf in Assist per a game with his solid 6.7 apg average....This also ties him for 4th in the NCAA as well....He is also ranked 1st in the conf and ranked 19th in the nation, in FT %...with his Solid 89.3%.....Speaking of FT shooting, Russell is currently on a freakin Hot FT shooting streak, as he has drained his last 20 FT attempts (dating back to Feb 4th)...and has currently made 40 of his last 42 attempts at the line as well...Solid advantage to have late in the game Baby!

-Side Note: G Walker Russell besides moving into 7th place on the OVC's all-time assists list, following that solid road win at Tenn Tech....he also is putting up these numbers on average....Shooting 38.3% from downtown....3.7 rpg....1.5 spg...and 13.1 ppg...

-Side Note: Russell, closed the season with a strong week that earned him OVC Player of the Week accolades...and has averaged 16 points and 7.5 assists per game in two wins to lead the Gamecocks.

                      *SR G BJ Spencer...aka "The Mad-Bomber"

-BJ is the Gamecocks All-Time long-range bomber...so believe me, he definately can light it the fuck up baby!....He is considered one of the premier 3 pt shooters in the OVC conf....and is definately has proving it again this year draining 69 treys so far on the season....Solid!....He also currently ranks 3rd in the conf, in 3 pt % with his 44.8% average...and is also ranked 3rd as well in 3pt FGs made with his 3 long bomb per a game average...BJ, also ranks 8th in FG % in the conf with his 48% average as well...

Spencer is the type of player which all teams wish they could have on offense..but yet so few possess, especially as he is not only a long range threat, but a consistant long range threat...and that is what separates him from many others who claim to be able to shoot it from downtown....When BJ is on a roll, he can simply spark a team to go on big runs on offense..

Side Note: BJ besides leading the team in from behind the Arc....he also leads the team with his 15.3 ppg average (which ranks him 10th in the conf)...and he is also coming off of tying the schools single-season 3-pointers made record on Tuesday in a 77-68 win over Morehead State, meaning his next successful trey attempt will push him past the previous record holder, Poonie Richardson, who connected on 69 3-pointers in the 2001-02 season.

*SR G Wilson ...aka "Mr Versatile"

-Wilson is the Gamecocks best inside/outside guy....hense Mr Versatile....He can score from the outside and inside and averages 7.3 ppg...However, it is his ability to also bang the boards as well, which has helped the Gamecocks emensly over some opponents this year...He currently shoots 38.8% from downtown...and is averaging 4 rebs per game, while also shooting 74.5% from the line as well...He's not the biggest of the 3 Guards, but he definately does play like it...but this is to be expected as he is the most experienced of the trio with 4 years of starting experience...This Versatility was clearly seen in the Gamecocks upset of defending champs Tenn Tech, 2 games ago on the road...where Wilson had a monster day grabbing 12 boards (4 off rebs) to go along with his...one 3 pointer, 2 steals, 1 block, and 11 pts in the win...In that game the Gamecocks outboarded the Golden Eagles by 11 rebs....Solid!

Side Note: 4 of the returning G's for the Gamecocks all shot over 70% from the line last season....and this season, 4 of the 5 guards again are hitting their shots from the line...ie, Spencer 73.7%....Russell 89.3%......Wilson 77.5%.....and Peters 83.3%.

                      *JSU Frontcourt:

-Cant forget the "Trees" now can we....LOL...Beside the active and talented backcourt of the Gamecocks...the guys downlow this year have also provided major contribution, especially since it is considered their weak spots with so many new faces in the mix...

However, guys like JR F Courtney Bradley continue to be impressive...and was just awarded on Monday, his 5th OVC Newcomer of the Week honor by recording his 7th double-double of the season...And whats more important coming into this game...is that he is matching up with the rest of the crew on his solid play...as he is coming off of a 14 pt, 10 rebound game...which is also his 2nd DD in the last two games...Like this current balance!....Oh, and I forgot to mention...that in the Gamecocks earlier loss at E Kent...he had a career night against the Colonels big men, putting up 25 pts and grabbing 7 rebs....Looking for the same output again tonight....Again, love this current balance!

Side Note: Bradley is ranked 3rd in the conf in FG% with his 53% average....He also ranks 3rd in the conf in rebounding with his 7.5 average (6th off...and 3rd def)...Not to mention partner dowlow in Brown ranks 2nd in the conf in blocks.

Side Note: F Courtney Bradley passed the 200-rebound plateau, making him just the eighth player in JSU history to accomplish the feat.

*Other Team Stats, Trends, and Info I like:

-JSU currently is the OVC's best in steals per a game with 8.7
-JSU is ranked 1st in TO Margin.
-JSU is ranked 2nd in Off Rebounds.
-JSU is ranked 2nd in 3 pt FG's made.
-JSU also rankes 2nd in 3 pt % with their 37.8% average.
-JSU is ranked 4th in FG%.
-JSU at Home averages 4 less turnovers (13 to 17.6)..and average allowing 5.7 steals while they steal it 9.3 times on average in their House.
-JSU also in their House average 3.6 blocks as well..
-JSU forced an average of 16.8 turnovers per game..and 5 times this season has forced 20 or more turnovers.
-JSU also 5-3 ATS and 12-6 SU as a Fav their last 18 games..
-JSU also 11-6 ATS ...5-1 ATS this year, in games played on Sat.
-JSU also 12-5 ATS after a conf game.
-JSU also 6-2 ATS off a loss in a conf game.
-JSU also 4-2 ATS & 5-3 SU vs teams with losing records.

                      *Some Situational Advantages:

-The Colonels come into this one off a loss which would of given them the 1st home game in this tourney....but they lost to a team that they already beat on their floor....And, they lost by 10 pts as well...EKU couldn't cash in on its opportunity and now they are expected to cash in for a third time against the Gamecocks....I dont think so!..

Eastern Kentucky went 2-0 against Jacksonville State this year, but it will need to go 3-for-3 to advance in the OVC tournament. The Colonels escaped with a one-point victory in their last meeting, warding off a late JSU surge to earn the victory.

-I think in almost all sports, a hard thing to do is beat a team on their court and then have to go defend them on your court...But, after you've somehow accomplished the home/away sweep....the hardest thing to do is try to do it again, one more time..and not to mention on the road again...Remember, although the Colonels are 2-0 against the Gamecocks this year, they only won by 1 pt at JSU on Feb 15ths game..

-A main reason why it is so hard to beat a team twice, let alone 3 times in one year...is due to the fact that you have exposed to them what works against them....So, they can prepare for it..as most wont change what has worked before, right....The Gamecocks, on the otherhand, has a hidden or new gameplan or attack to come out with...and this is what works to the advantage of the teams looking for payback this time..

-The Gamecocks, have closed out the season on a tear winning 3 straight and 6 of their last 8 games...to earn back this home game in the OVC tournament, which they lost when they went down to the Colonels...One main reason for this is that their offense is simply clicking right now, and has been for most of the year...Simply a solid way to enter into this game...

-This will be the first ever-Div 1 postseason game ever hosted by Jacksonville St....so expect the Chicken Coup to be a Rockin and a Rollin tonight....This is important also because JSU is one team that needs to come out fast, something they failed to do vs E Kent in the last game...So, the crowd will be important in helping them keep the pressure on...while at the same time helping to keep EKU on their heels this time around..

-JSU, can light it up at home..where they are averaging 76.8 ppg, shooting 47% from the field, 38.7% from behind the Arc, and also 71.9% from the line as well...Sooolid!

-Lastly, this one is for Big Double Revenge...Enough Said!

Jacksonville St -4 (EZ 86-59 Blowout Winner!)

*Here were those $olid Investment Plays made on the Gamecocks, as mentioned above..which brought home the Ca$h overall the past month.

                          CONCLUSION:

JSU knows it can beat the Colonels cause they did it before...Now, they just needs to prove it again...Tonight, I can only see a hungrier Gamecocks team then previous....and they should do the Struting and Cock-A-Doodling-To-Victory in the end!...So Gang, lets strap them knives on once more, cause we got ourselves another Cock Fight Baby! ....GL to All and Aloha as always, Co-Captain.
