The Torerros got the Big Uglies downlow to matchup and out play St Mary's Biggies....And this Torerros team is a good shooting team at that and all around as well....ie, 48.9% from the field....70% from the line.....and 41.9% from behind the Arc...That is approx 6% better than the Gaels.

St Mary's is just 2-6 ATS vs Teams with winning records...SD also 7-4 ATS and 10-3 ...and 31-14 ATS vs teams with winning records..St Mary's is just 4-6 on the road and averaging just 63.9 ppg on the road...SD is 10-3 at home...where they are averaging 80.8 ppg...shooting 49.3% from the field....while allowing just 69.7 ppg....and the Torerros already beat this St Mary's team on their floor by 8 pts...

The Gaels maybe winning of late...but the fact that the Torerros have lost 2 of their last 3 games put this one in the very important category to get for them...not to mention, better their tourney seeding....SD, takes care of business tonight!

Wow...this is the like the almost exact way the game went into the half in the SC/Hawaii game....The Broncos were shooting lights out and was up by 20...I mean un-freakin-concious shooting..The Don's started out cold...but got it going...and went on an 20 to 9 run to close out the half...and are down by just 9 right now...Remember, the Warriors were down by 8 at the half as well..and then won by 10...I think this is deja vu...

The Dons are down, but I am still going to back the Home team in this one...as I seen how the Broncos are weak at holding the leads..and their travels have got to work its way into the mix in the 2nd Hf....and when the legs go so should that Hot shooting streak...

-The Friars still can get to the NIT..so they will need to get this one....S Florida is done and there lack of a bench and the injuries they had is a reason why...Like the Friars here..

Ark -7.5



-I'm not so concerned about the past history of these two...where Ala has dominated the series and won the last 5 against the Razorbacks...That was in the past when the Tide was loaded, hense 5 straight NCAA appearances....This year, the Tide is not that loaded, as that team from last season was...and especially moreso now that Davis is gone...Sure, they are still playing solid ball....But, dont forget that the Razors are as well..and especially on their own court where they are a solid 14-1..and spanking opponents assess by an average of 17 ppg...

Currently, Bama is just 3-5 on the Road, averging just 61.7 ppg, and grabbing just 30.9 ppg...And, they are coming into Razorback land where these guys, as mentioned above, are tearing shit up...averaging 77 ppg, shooting 48.5% from the field, ans shooting 37.4% from 3 pt land...althewhile holding opponents to just 60.5 ppg, 37.9% from the field, and 32.9 rpg.

Side Note: Bama teams of the past (especially last season) could drain it from downtown...and that made them a huge force to contend with inside and out...However this years version..is just shooting 29.4% from behind the Arc...Big Difference!

Other areas overlooked alot in hoops play is in the Assist and Blocks category...and this is something that is very important in all games..but moreso, for the team on the road to be good at...At Home Ark is averaging 18 assist per a game...while Bama is only averaging just 11 assist on the road...iIn addition, Arks defense at home is allowing opponents to average just 11 assist as well.....Solid!.... Ark also is averaging 8 blocks at home...to Bama's 3 on the road...And, the Razor's are ranked 2nd overall in the SEC in this category...Both of these two things can lead to momentum changes and spark a team on offense...so it is a very important stat here that we have in favor of the Razorbacks in their own House..

A problem for this Bama team tonight is the fact that this team on defense doesnt force many turnovers...and on the road that is not going to cut it most times...Bama, in their last 3 road games...forced an average of just 8.6 in this span....Not Good!

Now, as far as the first meeting between the two teams...yes Bama won again, but that one was moreso lost by the Razorbacks, then an outright domination of Bama on their own floor...In that one, we cannot overlook the facts that Ark did have a 12 pt lead in the first half....and that they also only had 9 attempts, making only 5 of them, at the line as well...Whereas Bama had an amazing 33 attempts at the line...making 22 of them freebies...And even with all this deficiency going on..Ark still was able to keep their chances at an outright win here...and this one needed to be won in OT by Bama as well...Something to think about, imo.

*Some Stats and Trends I like here....

-Ark is 9-2 ATS & 14-1 SU.
-Ark is 4-1 ATS in Feb.
-Ark is 9-3 ATS after a Conf game.
-Ark is 5-2 ATS vs teams with winning records.
-Ark is 11-5 ATS & 13-3 SU as Favs.
-Bama is 0-3 ATS on Tuesdays.
-Bama is 0-3 after scoring 80 pts.

-Ark is led by the SEC top scorer in Ronnie Brewer (19.3 ppg)...and Modica, who is 4th in the SEC with his 17.8 ppg average....Solid!

Interesting Side Note: Alabama is 0-4 this year on ESPN...1 home loss to ND 78-71...and 3 Road losses at Oklahoma 68-65, Temple 68-58, and SC 67-56...Do you think the boys from Bama is alittle camera shy?...LOL..jk.

This year is the perfect time and situation for Ark to finally get the Bama monkey off their backs...Also, with the SEC taking 5 to the dance and Tenn, LSU, and Florida already projected filling 3 of those 5 spots already...The other 2 spots are going to be between Bama, Ark, and Kentucky....Ark travels to Tenn following this one...and they need to win at least one of these two games...So with this one being at home and Tenn on the road next...I strongly feel tonight they will play the game of their lives (their Big Dance lives, that is)..and that should equate to another solid home win for them...which should come in a Big Way...and which should help them get back to the Big Dance...where they have not been since 2001...Go Razors!

-Yet another Home team with so much to play for comes out ice cold...Unreal!...Still, I am sticking with them as Brewer and Modica should find ways to contrubute, spark, and impact this game...They, especialy Brewer is just to good of a player to be held to just 5 pts in his own house...Also, need to remember that Ark still has the ability to shot the long ball...and Bama overall has struggled hitting just 29% overall from behind the Arc..and are still playing with a very short bench....Expect a Razorback Run this Half!.

Anyways, not a complete write-up on this one, like I back my bigger plays up with...But you guys should already know that Capping is all I do come FB and CBB season...so I fully hit all angles on this one, just like the rest of them I released out (win or lose)....

One of them, is the FACT that this again is yet another must win game for the Home Team ...as they try to get their butts an invite to the Dance...Good way to pad that resume, then with a win over this LSU team...who they definately can beat tonight...And, who they have own of late on their floor....How much have they owned the Tigers at home?....Well, the Tigers have not won at Vandy since Jan 10th, 1996...4 straight losses on the Commodore's home floor...Of course things could change as this is still sports investing and there is no guarantees in this business or even on the court....However, you cant ignore the situational setups and the sense of urgency or should I say, the Fear of Loss, which Vandy will be playing with tonight...You always want to look for these type of situation where the home team is really motivated and is in a must win game..not to mention, having to do it vs a ranked opponent coming in as well...Who btw, does so knowing that win or lose they are going Dancin come March.....Can you say, whooping the Tigers Ass is all the Commodores got on their minds....Well, thats what it is and where it should be tonight..

When the situations and the motivations are in place...you add it with some of the fundamental advantages in this game...One, I found is in the Long Range Bombs category...as it is here that the Commodores like to "See the 3...Be the 3" ....and they are the nations 27th ranked team in 3 pt% (39.1%) shooting...while the Tigers are ranked a measely 213th (33.8%) in the land in this category...Now this stat is for the overall 3 pt % shooting...not based on just Home/Road...as the Commodores at Home are shooting lights out hitting 41% from down town....And this to go along with there 48.3% overall shooting from the field also...Bombs Away Baby!

The Tigers will have their hands full if they get hot tongith...as they are not as stellar on the road in defending the 3 ball..allowing opponents to average a healthy 39% shooting from long range....Not Good!

The Commodores spanked the Tigers last season by 20 pts at Memorial Gym...and that was just one day previous to this being exactly one year from that 74-54 blowout game...So we may still have the moon cycle working with us and in our favor...if you believe in that..LOL..jk on that one...Moon cycle (yeah right)...LOL....Not bad huh, as I just made that one up on the fly...LOL...

Ok, stop it..

One thing though that I cant make up is the FACT that LSU is 0-6 ATS in this month of Feb....They are just 5-4 on the Road this year, 13-18 the last 3 seasons on the Road...and just 26-61 on the Road since 1997....While the Commodores are 10-4 this year at Home...42-8= 84% at Home the last 3 seasons...and 117-35= 77% at Home since 1997...Solid HCA...so dont worry about the other games (4 losses at home), this one is the one that matters!

If the Commodores want to Dance, they need to win this one first...And with this line set at -1 -1.5....all they need to do is win...and not make no dramatic comebacks like Ark had to do last night...Thank God for 2nd half lines, huh...lol....No Bricks In This Hooouse.
