  • *LATE NIGHT COMP PLAY 4 "SUPER SATURDAY"

    Colorado +127

-I like this Doggie, eventhough Col on the road has not fared to well overall...today they do have the advantage with Francis over Gossling and they are playing much better than the D-Back are of late..

Francis for the Rockies pitchs well at home going 8-2 but on the Road he struggles..however Gossling at Home struggles just as bad, maybe worse as his ERA at Home is 5.02, WHIP is 2.02, and he is allowing opponents to hit .337 against him....Francis is a more solid pitcher and Col is heating up again winning 4 of last 5, while the D-Backs have now lost 25 of their last 33 home games, and more recently are just 3-6 their last 9 home games...Oh yeah, and Francis is 3-0 vs Zona with a ERA of 3.14 in his 5 career starts vs them...Colorado in an upset again.... Go Rocky Mountain Boys!

    • *EARLY COMP PLAY 4 "SHOWTIME SUNDAY" ....ENJOY!

      SAN DIEGO -150

-Have no choice but to lay the price in this one...as alot of the National Studs are taking the day off today...Peavy, is a very solid as hell pitcher and with these guys out, he should cruise...especially since now the Nationals will only have 3 players hitting over .250, in Johnson .320 (only real threat in the lineup, imo), Baerga .275, and Church .299.

Peavy this year is only allowing opponents to hit a low .219 vs him...and he also is only allowing road opponents to hit .237 this year, while he also has a Road WHIP of just 1.08...To beat Peavy, you need to earn it and it wont be easy for the Nationals today....Furthermore, these 3 guys hitting over .250 for the Nationals..are all LHBs...and Peavy has been smoking LHB's this year...with an ERA of 2.20, WHIP of 1.10...recording 72 K's, just 19 walks, 0 ERs, in alittle over 68 innings vs LHBs...And, the Nationals in their last 10 games was hitting just .238 vs RHPs....while SD has averaged .289 vs RHPs in this span....Good pitching will beat good hitting, but the Nationals even with these guys in the lineup are not that good in hitting anyways.

      Some Stats and Trends:

-WAS is 1-4 in Loaiza's last 5 starts.
-WAS is 5-11 in their last 16 Home games.
-WAS are 2-10 in the last 12 meetings vs SD.

Dont understand this move by the the Nationals...but I will Take It and Lay It!.... Go Padres!

                • **Special-TOP RATED HOME DOG OF THE DAY ON:

                  METS +131

-The Mets are on a strong surge right now..and today they have alot of motivation to get a first Sweep of a Chicago team since 2002....At Home is where this team plays some strong ball as they are 35-23 so far at Shea Stadium...This Home win record is currently the 3rd best record in the NL, only behind the Cards and Astros....Currently, the Mets have won 9 of their last 12 at Home, and although they have been abit inconsistant at times this year overall...they currently are sitting above .500 again, and they can thank their strong play at Home for keeping them in the hunt for the Wild Card race....I like the Mets Home Field Advantage.

The Cubs, on the other hand, is coming into this game sitting two games below .500, which is the first time since July 9th that they were in this position....They had their run in July but it now seems that their run is tappering off and sliding downwards again....In fact, the loss on Saturday was the Cubs 4 straight and the 5th in the last 6 games for them...

The Cubs slump has to do with their lack of offensive support which is where most people figured would go cold after they had caught fire behind Lee's stick....I mean, it was bound to happen some time..and this looks like a good spot...Besides the losses they suffered in the first two games of this series, it is evident that they are in a hitting slump...In the Cubs last 5 games, all on the road, they have a 1-4 record and have been outscored 14 to 22....Vs the Mets these last two games, they were outscored 11 to 5....The Mets, meanwhile in their last 6 games have a 4-2 record..and they have been on an offensive explosion..putting up 9 runs in 4 of these games and total scoring 42 to opponents 35 in this span as well..

The Cubs Zambrano is pitching very well this year and of late...However, the Mets Zambrano in his last 2 starts vs the Cubs is 1-0, with an ERA of 2.77, WHIP of .923, and is only allowing the Cubs to hit .136 against him....In fact, in these two games vs the Cubs...he allowed just 4 ERs on 6 hits, had 6 walks, but K'ed 12...in 13 innings....In his last start vs the Cubs back on May 11th at Wrigley, he went 6 innings, allowed just 3 hits and 3 ERs, in their 3-4 loss....Still Solid!

Mets is hitting .312 vs RHPs their last 10 games vs them....which the Cubs are only hitting .240 vs RHPs their last 10....Overall in this 10 game span, the Mets are hitting .296, while the Cubs has hit just .235 in this span....The Cubs are also just 6-11 after 3 or more consecutive losses..as well as, just 3-7 as a Road Fav of -125 to -150 this year...not to mention, just 1-4 so far in August.

The Mets solid play at Home is due to their defense where they are allowing opponents to average just 3.9 rpg, hitting .248, and .308 OBP....The Mets also 5-3 at Home vs the Cubs the last 3 seasons..including 2-0 so far this year....
Another reason for their solid play of late is their players like shortstop Jose Reyes, who extend his hitting streak a career-high 19 games..and is batting .418 (33-for-79) with 18 runs and 11 steals during the streak....People taking about the return of the Cubs studs like Nomar and Woods back from DL will make a difference...well, I say it will, but not right now...as they are still rusty and will need time to jell...This was evident with Nomars going 0-4 on Friday..but then again, he was just 8 for 51 (.157) on the season before he went on the DL...so he might just suck to begin with...

                  Some more Stats and Trends:

-Road team is just 3- 6 in Cederstrom's last nine BHP
-CHC is 3-7 in their last 10 road games.
-Mets are 9-3 in their last 12 home games.
-NYM are 5-2 in their last seven meetings.

I am banging the Motivated and Strong Home Team Mets...and being installed as a Dog just adds more fuel to their motivating Fire... Mets Get the $WEEP! ....GL and Aloha CC.
