*Special-TOP RATED PLAY OF THE WEEK:

              Detroit -129

-In this one we get to see two young upcoming pitchers lead their teams into their 5 game of this series between them....However, only one will come out the winner and I like Detroits Bonderman to continue his All Star season with another solid Home win over this Twins team, who he knows has had his number when he first came into the league...

Minny's starter Lohse has pitched reasonably well of late, despite posting 2 losses and a no decision in his past 3 starts....In fact, in Lohse's last 3 games he is 0-2 with an ERA of 4.76, WHIP of 1.88..allowing 26 hits in just 17 innings on the hill...Lohse is similar to the Twins other pitch Silva in that he also gives up alot of hits...ie, overall he has given up 126 hits in 103 innings this year...Like Silva, I feel that his inability to limit the amount of hits he allows will catch up to him today and thus give the Tigers many more opportunities to capitalize on them....One big reason I feel this way is due to the fact that Lohse overall has allowing opponents to average .308 batting against him....And, these high BAA's he has doesnt change to much in different situations as well...ie, In away games, he is allowing .297 BAA...In Day games he is allowing opps .294 BAA...and in games played on grass (Minny Turf Field) his BAA is .319....Why this stat will work against him vs the Tigers, is because Detroit the last 10 games vs RHPs is hitting .306 vs them...and overall in their last 10 games they are hitting a solid .324 overall....Minny, on the other hand, in their last 10 games vs RHPs is only hitting .217 and overall in this span is hitting just .230....Perfect for the Tigers Bats.

Lohse in the past has had Detroits number posting an overall record of 6-2 in 13 starts vs them...with an ERA of 4.85, WHIP of 1.35.....However, this year vs Detroit he has gone 1-1, ERA is a whopping 8.18...allowing 15 hits, 10 ERs, 3 walks, 2 HRs, and 9 K's in just 11 innings on the hill....Today's game is at Detroit, and in Lohse last 8 road starts, he has gone 3-4, ERA 3.88, WHIP 1.42, and BAA .297.....In 6 games he started on grass this year...he has struggled posting a 1-4 record with ERA of 4.72, WHIP of 1.54, and BAA of .319......Furthermore, in Lohse last game vs Detroit at the Minnesota on June 21st..he was beaten up in the 2-7 loss by the Tigers....allowing 6 ERs on 7 hits, 1 HR, 2 walks, and only 3 K's in alittle over 4 innings on the hill...Oh Boy!

Another thing about Lohse is that he has really dominated any batters being RHBs or LHBs....Vs RHBs he is allowing them to average .309 with an 8.23 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, in 54 innings, giving up 68 hits and 50 ERs.....Vs LHB's he is allowing them to avg .307 with a WHIP of 1.41, in 49 innings, giving up 58 hits, and 4 HRs.....Detroit will bring possibly all RHBs against him except for their rising rookie star Granderson who bats Lefthanded.

Still, that is not all he will need to face today...as he will be facing 3 solid hitters who he didnt have to face in their first two meetings he started...One of them is Ordonez who is avg in the year a solid .315 and hitting cleanup....Another is Guillen who is averaging a solid .325 at bats in the number 2 spot....and Granderson who is avg .333 at the plate, usually 9th in the order....Also, since these last two starts...this Tigers lineup who he did face also got better an rised their batting averages as well as already recorded mult-hits on Lohse in their two meetings....ie, Inge (.307) 3 hits/1 HR (.429 vs Lohse) .....Rodriguezs (.300) 3 hits (.375 vs Lohse)....Young (.260) 4 hits/1 HR (.444 vs Lohse)......White (.303) 2 hits (.290 vs Lohse)... Monroe (.294) 2 hits (.250 vs Lohse).....Shelton (.355) 1 hit vs Lohse....and Infante (.236) no hits in the last two games vs Lohse...

Detroits "Ace" Bonderman takes the hill with his solid 12-6 record, 4.05 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and BAA of .247..(with 2 CGs).....Bonderman is currently 5-3 at Home this year...and he currently has the 6th lowest BAA in the AL at .247...He also has the 2nd most wins in the AL with 12.....He has the 8th lowest WHIP of 1.22 in the AL.....5th most K's in the AL with over 100...Lohse has less than half of his amount with 50 K's.....and his is 6th in most innings pitched in the AL...Plus, vs RHBs he is only allowing them to average .199 hitting against him...Not good as Minny mostly made up of RHBs in their lineup..

In Bonderman's last 3 games, he is 2-1 with an ERA of 3.86, WHIP of 1.00...allowing 16 hits in 22 innings....Bonderman in his career is just 1-4 vs Minny in his 6 starts and he has an inflated 7.67 ERA, 1.93 WHIP, 6 HRs, and BAA of .374...All of this is inflated and based on last seasons, his rookie year, where he got spanked at the hands of the Twins whenever he faced them....This year, things are a bit different as not only has he gotten the respect of being an All Star selection...but he also was able to get some revenge and respect back from Minny in his only start vs them this year back on June 21st...a game that Detroit won 7-2...with him going the full 9 innings, allowing just 5 hits, 2 ERs, O HRs, 2 walks, and recording 9 K's...

This year in his last 4 Home games he is 3-1...and has beaten some of the most solid lineups in the league....ie, Vs the Yankees, he went 9 innings, allowing 8 hits, 2 ERs, 2 walks, 5 K's in the 10-2 win.......Vs SD he went 7 innings, allowing 4 hits, 1 ER, 3 walks, and 4 K's..in their 3-1......and Vs Texas, he went 7 innings, allowing 10 hits, 4 ERs, 2 HRs, O walks, and 6 K's...in their 6-4 win...Solid!

              *Some Stats and Info:

-Detroit is 7-3 in Bonderman's last 10 starts.

-Umpire Iassogna is 14-6 W/L in favor of the Home team.

-Det is 7-3 in their last 10 meetings.

-Det as a team is hitting .332 through its last 10 and averaged nearly 6 runs in its first 10 tilts with the Twins this season.

-Det in their last 7 games is avg 6 rpg and hitting .323.

-Minny in their last 7 games is avg 4.4 rpg and hitting just .250.

-Twins, CWS, Rangers, Yankees..rank among the top half of the MLB clubs in team batting averages and have records above .500 but Bonderman held those clubs to just 2.4 runs against him....and the Tigers won 4 of 5 of those games vs them..

-Det's heavy hitters Ordonez and Shelton has a hitting streak of 15 games...

Bonderman and the Tigers lineup should be able to get things done today against Lohse who they have hit very well...Currently with their team avg well over .300 and also with Lohse allowing opponents to average hitting .300+ against him...I see today the Tigers take full advantage and thus takes this 5 game series..which would be a follow up to their winning the series at CWS previous... Today its all Tigers and their All-Star Bonderman!

-I still got 2 Special-Top Rated Play selections left for today....along with several other solid plays....Contact me if you want to get them Bad Boys.....Aloha CC.

                Texas/Oak Under 10 -109

                *Some Stats and Trends:

-Under is 21-11 vs Oaks div opps.

-5 of Oaklands last 6 games went Under.

-4 of Texas last 5 games went Under.

-Under is 4-1 in Park's last 5 starts.

Oaklands Harden has been a shutdown shutout maniac...His overall ERA is a low 2.11, WHIP .973....In his last 3 games his ERA is just 1.99, WHIP .882....All of his 6 road starts have gone Under the total...His last 3 games started ended Under the total....and 9 out of his 12 games pitched went Under....On the year, Harden has only given up 4 HRs in over 85 innings on the hill...In his last 3 starts he has given up just 1 HR...and just 2 HRs in his 6 road starts...No easy freebies.

Park at Home has a ERA of 3.46 and 5-2 in his last 9 starts, giving up just 4 HRs as well...Overall he has allowed just 8 HRs in over 109 innings on the hill....and in his last 3 starts the Under is 3-0.

                        • Aloha Gang....Ok new week, so here a new comp for you...

**COMP PLAY 4 "BIG MONDAY" ....ENJOY!

                          Baltimore -145

-Like this one as Texas Benoit making his second start and 1st on the road vs another lineup with long ball threats...Still must not be sitting with him to good after dishing up the Bombs to the Yankees in his first start...and now he must face another HR hitting team like this O's lineup possess...

Texas in a tailspin of late and so are the O's, but they are at Home now and also in better contention with being only a few games behind of Boston...whereas Texas has fallen 10 games back and now has lost its 5 straight, falling to 2-9 since the All-Star break...not to mention dropping under .500 for the first time since May 2nd....Contending with the road is not someplace that heals wounds to good...and especially not with a pitcher who has not had to much success against the O's as well...Benoit, already faced the O's twice going 0-1 with an ERA of 8.30 and WHIP of 2.076.....Oh yeah, and in these two starts vs the O's he has given up 3 Bombs!...Oh Boy!

Texas on the road also allowing 5.2 rpg and .282 hitting...and are just 5-11 as a road dog of +125 to +150 this season...They are also just 5-10 vs teams with losing records in the 2nd half of the season as well...Balt, at home is allowing just 3.9 rpg and just .239 hitting to visiting opponents...And, they have owned these Rangers the last 3 season going 12-4 overall and 9-1 vs them at Camden...The O's need to make up ground and today they start doing that... Go O's!

                              • FYI:

-This was my Special-Top Rated Play of the Day with its indepth Write-Up I released on Big Monday.

*Special--TOP RATED PLAY OF THE DAY ON:

                                Detroit -112

Detroit winning 12 of their last 18 games...while still in playing for a spot in the AL Wild Card race....They have been able to go on this run of late due to their lineup having all their studs back, as well as, the emergence of some of the other starters like Shelton and rookie Granderson coming through with some big hits....One of their studs doing damage is Ordonez who is hitting .426 with 13 RBIs and has a 17 game hitting streak going right now..

Today they go with their LHP Robertson, who also has the lowest ERA of their starting staff and which ranks him 6th in the AL as well...Robertson today will be facing the last placed AL West Seattle who has now lost their last 5 of 6 and two straight...In his career, Robertson is 2-0 vs Seattle allowing just 2 ERs, on 12 hits, with 2 walks, and 7 K's in these two wins....His ERA vs Seattle is just 1.29, WHIP 1.00, and Seattle has hit just .231 vs him...Overall on the Road, Robertson is 4-3...but he is coming into this one off of going 2-0 in his last 2 road starts where he beat CWS and Minnesota....Vs CWS he went 7 innings, allowed 4 hits, 3 ERs, 2 walks, and 6 K's...Vs Minny, he went 9 innings , allowed 5 hits, no ERs, 1 walk, and 6 Ks...Solid!

Although Robertson is just 2-2 in his last 6 starts..his ERA in these 6 games is a solid 1.70....Franklin, on the other hand, is coming into this one off a terrible start, giving up 8 ERs, on 12 hits, and lasting just 5 1/3 innings vs the Blue Jays on Weds, for his 11th loss on the year....Vs Detroit, he is just 1-2 in 3 starts and has a ERA of 4.18, WHIP of 1.23, and allowing .270 avg hitting against him...At Home in 7 starts, things are worst as he is 1-5, allowing 23 walks, 21 K's, 26 ERs, on 45 hits, in just 46 innings...for an ERA of 5.09, WHIP of 1.48, and BAA of .260...Franklin this year has been simply to inconsistant and very hard to predict... Not Good!

Overall in the last 10 games Detroit has been hitting .312 and vs RHPs they have an average of .294 in this span...Seattle overall in their last 10 games is hitting only .243...Detroit is also 3-0 in Robertsons last 3 starts and also 7-3 in his last 10 road starts as well.... Tigers get it done!

                                ================================================== ============================
