I know I sound sadistic but HOLY SHIT!!! This could clinch me the bet if he goes out for a couple weeks. I honestly hope he's okay but man it'd be nice to see him out of that line up!!!!!!!!!!!

    HOLY SHIT!!

I'm aware. But that's how most people with a $10,000 bet would react. I hope he's fine. I just want him out of the lineup. Freaking guy seems to hit a HR every day. BoSox aren't going anywhere anyways. Just shut him down and let him get healthy.

It's tough dude. You got a lot of money on the line but you hate to see a good guy like Papi have health issues.

Exactly. Papi is a good guy and an awesome player. It's not like I want to win the money this way. I'd much rather Howard beat him on a level playing field. But when it's 10 grand...I'll take it just about any way I can get it.

I really do hope Papi's okay. Hopefully it's just a precautionary measure. I'm sure I sound like an ass. But you can imagine my reaction sitting here in the middle of the night and hearing that update.

You don't sound like an ass. 10 grand is 10 grand. If Papi didn't play for the Red Sox nobody would even be making this a big deal.

Come on guys. All of us would glad that Ortiz went down. At least privately. If any of us had that bet riding we'd be lieing if at least a small part of us would be happy that Ortiz is sick.

Let face it. Ortiz is a strange. We invest in strangers. I'm not wishing anything bad happens to him but do we really give a shit what happens to any of these guys? I don't.

It's a situation where to be perfectly honest I am glad he's out.

I would just prefer if it was with an injury like a sprained knee or a broken thumb, not an irregular heartbeat which just sounds scary.

I can't say I blame you. I would feel the same way. $10,000 is $10,000. If we offered Sox fans $10,000 or the return of Ortiz 99.9% would take the money.

I'm interested to see how this situation plays out.

With Boston falling behind and seemingly out of the playoff race, is it possible they might just shut Papi down for the season?

Very good possibility. He needs 12 in 32 games.
