The Rookie of the Year At 40-1

You Want to See Something Funny -- Same amount, same odds, same everything. Maybe with two of us rooting, that will be enough. Just one behind Ortiz right now. I find myself checking their box scores before I check the scores of my plays. Even their batting averages are close, Howard .294 to Ortiz .290, in case they tie. I think we got 40-1 because all everyone saw was that Howard hit only 22 HR's last year and not that he only played half a season.

Congrats on another Howard bomb....Im rooting for ya.

On another note.....why does Papi ever get a day off? Its not like he exurts any energy.....4 or 5 AB's and a few trips around the bases? What a joke....Franny should tell him he is going Ripken style. Hell, he could play till he is 50.

Thanks, and I completely agree. I was surprised to see him out of the lineup today but I'll definitely take it!

                            Interesting note on this:

                            The tiebreaker is batting average.

Howard is at .298 with Ortiz at .284.

If the season ended today, I'd win....

#44 for Papi. I just can't see Howard beating him. He just sits around all day, comes up 5 times a game and sees strikes because he's got Manny behind him. Howard is pitched around all the time and gets intentionally walked just about any time 1st base is open.

I'm planning a hedge with a big bet on Ortiz but Soriano keeps hanging around....
