        Thanks Bry.

I just can't justify a $1000 hedge on Papi with Soriano just a few HRs back tho.

Soriano just hit his 41st. I cannot fucking believe that guy. He is the only thing stopping me from hedging my bet. He just refuses to go away.

I submit that Alfonso Soriano is the best baseball player in the world. He has hit 41 home runs and stolen over 30 bases this season while adjusting to a new position on a new team and playing in arguably the worst hitters park in the Major Leagues and with nothing protecting him in the lineup.

That to me is more impressive than hitting 43 homers playing in a great hitters park (Howard) or hitting 44 homers playing almost exclusively as a DH with a stud behind you in the lineup (Ortiz)

            Soriano is truly unbelievable.

And he is killing my bet.

Soriano just crushed one, they ruled it a double, thought it was out.

I think he's going to win this race.

Ortiz hit #45 about an hour after Howard hit his.

That was an enjoyable run being tied.

At the risk of (justifiably) upsetting the Red Sox fans on this forum, I want to pose this possibility.

What if Boston slipped back and out of the wild card race. Do you guys think Manny would even bother to play the last couple weeks of the season, what with his injuries or whatever has been keeping him on the bench lately?

With Manny out, Ortiz would see FAR less strikes and my chances of winning would greatly increase.

Good Point! I might be wrong. I think Manny has the reputation of 'quiting' if his team is not in the running.
