Chuckie....
Great post, all good arguments that come from a happy, well adjusted guy who's learned to enjoy life through the experiences and mistakes that life throws us.... if anyone takes your well meant advice in a negative way, then fuck 'em!
Yea i won money yesterday, btw pinny doesn't allow phone in prop bets so i took that money i was gonna put on Hines Ketchup and put it on the Steelers...... my take on the refs is that they are part of the game, people could cry that the refs cost them money on just about any NFL game they throw money at, this one seems different cause of the magnitude of the game, i'm sure i'm gonna be on the losing side next season just as i've been in the past.....
And as you know i've violated many of those rules in the past, i get mad at myself because i make mistakes i should know better than to make.... but then i violate myself and i feel alot better!
CONGRATS TO YOU AND ALL THE STEELER FANS!!!!!!"That ain't working, that's the way you do it... get your money for nothing and your picks for free"

She watches all the Pirates games because she got autographs last year from players at opening game....It was great to see her compete in Softball and hug players from both teams after the games....She has learned to compete hard and is too nieve to worry about close calls..She's learned by herself and great coaches to try her best and have fun while doing it..Coaches who teach kids to accept winning, are losers themselves....And are still living in the past and won't ever be able to helping the kids in life...She cheers hard and enjoys life and I enjoy her....
I can't wait for the Crew to get back together during MLB...

I don't think you would be so cavaliar (sp) with your attitude on the officiating if the calls went against Pitt. No one questioned teams you were on etc. But then again, you said it was a well-officiated game. I think your responses have been a bit off topic about attitudes, opportunities, etc. The discussion was about the officiating. But like I said earlier, you are a better man if you wouldn't have grumbled even a little if those horrible calls were against Pitt..gl:christmas

Along with solid capping skills I have always appreciated your input on gambling. I am only 21 but have learned a lot from you and the other veterans on this site about the mental approach to betting. It is quite evident to me why you and a few others are the followed cappers here and that your knowledge and discipline pay off. Thanks for all you have shared and taking the time to share your advice along with your plays. Good Luck to you ChuckGreat Day To Win

The wheels on the bus go round and round...good post Chuck, I can honestly answer yes to about 5 of those questions...I think I am in for a change, though. The money I have won does not cover the lost time that could have been spent with family and friends. However, I have never blamed anyone for my losses other than myself for placing a "stupid" bet.If someone decides to blame others, whether it is a referee,a player, a coach, etc.etc....it is time to look in the mirror and say "Self...we need to talk."
A gambling addiction can be worse than a drug addiction. If someone has to steal or borrow to pay their bookie, it is really time to consider quitting.
A friend once told me that if you bet more than you make in a day on a wager, than you are betting that you don't have a gambling problem.(It took me a moment to understand this, but the more I thought about it, the more sense it made.) All said, I think your advice is very good, and i for one will take heed, and bet less with enjoyment in mind, not trying to "Kill the Bookie", or get even after a loss. Thanks for your input and I hope others follow your advice.
Congratulations to all Steeler fans everywhere...it feels good to have had the chance to play, and beat, such a great team as the Seahawks, (not to mention the Broncs, Colts, and Bengals)..."go round-and-round..."Scranton

I must have missed God in the stripes that game!!! I am still looking for your thread blasting Porter for his comments about the officiating/Manning/nfl after their win!!! Since no one can say anyting about the well-officiated games!!:christmasPre-ban 1-0 (+1.00)

Chuck,
Very well thought out statement. I too was on Pitt and was happy for the win. I've been at this "hobby" for quite some time now and have had times where there was no money to bet or the season wasn't going my way,in those cases I've been able to just walk away and take a season or partial seaon off. Used to be just football but in the past 4 years or so on this site I've expanded into a wide variety of sports. Upon my expansion, especially into basketball, I have found it very easy to place a lot of wagers and "sleep on it". Just waiting til the next morning to see how I did. On football I make all of my bets in the morning and never chase on late games what I've played is what I've played and there is no chasing.
I've noticed a lot of people get over emotional about their wagers and it's hard to watch, especially in those who obviously don't have the money to wager to begin with.
What we do should be fun and that's it. Very simple. Either you've got the money to lose or you don't . I think it's really important that everyone realize that you must be able to lose the money you are wagering without it causing any problem whatsoever. They don't build casinos around winning, bookies don't have mansions and new Jaguars because gamblers win.
Good luck to you and as always good luck to everyone at BC we've got a wonderful family here and I love being a part of it.
JohnGOOD LUCK ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you lose you are a degenerate....If you win you are a handicapper
