To tell you the truth whether Manny goes or not, I just don't think this team has much of a prayer for repeating anyways;this team just isn't as good as last year.

YOur wrong Savage... The Redsox are still a good team and can match up well in any 7 game series... They have a really good shot at repeating. The yanks on the other hand wont be a factor cause they are not going to go anywhere is Shitcone and Nomo...

What i'm saying is manny wants out and whether or not now or sometime down the road it will effect the team. I say only move manny though if the trade is fair. Dont dump him just to move him. IMO soriano is key. If some how some way the sox could get him i would see it as a upgrade

      Soriano is not going anywhere...

looks bleak for the Yanks. 220 million dollar payroll and our current rotation looks like this Johnson, Mussina, Leiter, Aaron " I am really not" Small, and Shawnie "Call me" Shitcone

Who said the Yankees? White Sox and Cardinals and several other teams are at least a balanced as Sox if not better.
It took 86 years to win one, but there are too many glaring weaknesses in pitching, bullpen, defense, etc. to think that this team has anything but an outside chance of repeating.
Too many players have left and/or injury prone to believe that this team is solid;they got lucky last year, and lets not forget it!
In all my many years of watching the Red Sox, I have seen much balanced Sox teams fall short.
I will gladyl eat my words if I am wrong.

Don't forget too before last season when all the Arod talk was going on, Manny was placed on waivers. Look at how well he performed last year in spite of that!
I see keep him-he'll get over it. He is just moody.
Personally Omar Manure or one of his henchmen has been tampering and trying to lure him away.

I've been saying for 2 years ................... I WANT SORIANO! .............. and i'm willing to give up Manny to get him. How about Mench and Soriano for Manny, Graffanino, and Pitching Prospect Annabelle Sanchez?

              Let's do it!!!

              IMO Manny is going NOWHERE!!!!!

Soriano is better than those two stiffs on the Mets thats for sure, although he swings at too many bad pitches. He does add team speed though.

He would fit right in along next to Renteria and i think he would be able to buddy up with Ortiz too. Soriano has very comparable numbers and as you mentioned, much needed speed. Manny would also get a little more privacy down in Arlington and i think it's been shown before that Texas has or had interest in Manny.

I know i'm dreaming but what the hell!

I think any trade with the Mets would be horrible unless Beltran was involved. I know he's not having a great year but i think he would fit well in Fenway!

Agreed. Now if the Mets want to give us Pedro back in exchange for Manny, well I might just do it(talk about dreaming).

I love Pedro but i don't want him. He brings the same Manny type baggage AND he is not any younger.

I don't like Pedro as a person either, BUT his record speaks for itself.
Obviously I was only joking but you would have to admit that at least for this season, he would certainly revitalize that Sox pitching staff. How about Pedro as the closer for Sox? Hmmmm.

I just want a Healthy Foulke back and a healthy Schilling starting. If we get that, we are looking good!

Wayne-Do you think Foulke can regain the form he showed last year? I have my doubts, and talk about age, to quote you with one word changed, "Schilling isn't getting any younger."
I obviously I hope you are right and that I am dead wrong.

I think Foulke just needs to screw his head on straight and i don't think you forget how to "Pitch" that quickly. As far as Schilling goes yes, you are right. He isn't young but my point is that taking Mannys offensive numbers from the lineup and replacing them with an aging, needy, pitcher to go WITH Schilling just doesn't make sense!
