There was one no decision against the Cubs in which he pitched pretty well, giving up 4 runs and 9 hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Not sure who the highest paid pitcher is in the league, but after this season, I think CC will take the lead.

Any guesses as to what the Yanks will give him?

              • Tigers should offer 5 years for 100 million....CC is the best in the business today

In all due respect, I don't believe any team should sign any pitcher for five years let alone for an absurd 100K.
Pitchers can lose their stuff quickly and are much more susceptible to injuries than every day players.

CC is worth it....he is a power pitcher and a smart pitcher at the same time and he is very very young with no history of arm trouble whatsoever.....if there is a guy worth this kind of money it is him and nobody else, nobody.

                    PEACE

Why stop at 100 million-why not make it 120K or even 150K?
Do you realize how much 100 million is?
I will be amazed if any GM signs him to a 5 year contract.
He would be doing well to get 20 million a year for 2 or 3 years, but 5 years at that kind of money, no way!

                      • I wouldn't be shocked at all if someone gave him a 5 year, 100 million dollar contract. He is only 28 years old too!

I sure hope the Sox don't offer that kind of money for five years.

I wish they would. It would essentially be Manny Ramirez and Curt Schilling for Jason Bay and CC Sabathia. It would be a wash financially and i would love to see it.

                            Beckett
                            Sabathia
                            Dice-K
                            Lester
                            Wakefield/Buchholz

                            SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!

If there were an ARod type everyday player available for the same money looking for 5 years and I had a choice between him and Sabathia, I would take the every day player assuming he was roughly the same age as Sabathia.
Half the games are played at Fenway, and lets face it, the latter part of the lineup for the Sox is weak.

                              • I am going to recant and say that in this age he might get the 5 year for 20K;afterall Santana is doing even better than that.
That being said, I still don't think it would be a wise move and certainly not for the Sox, as I think there are more pressing needs.
