Cassell is a great pick up for this team as long as he gets his health together...very solid move.

I went and watched the Warriors beat the Celtics (largest attendance for an NBA game in California history) and had so much appreciation for Paul Pierces game. He is one of the best scorers I have witnessed. He has ALL the weapons on offense and the only guy I've truly seen demonstrate all the weapons in person besides Rasheed Wallace. I saw kobe and mcgrady, dallas, utah and more but nobody had more tricks than that guy.

Baron Davis has All the weapons too and is a better passer than pierce but what Pierce clearly did better than anyone I've seen in person this year is create contact/fouls and get himself to the line.

Ray Allen has the sweetest stroke in the league too but Pierce is the absolute truth when it comes to scoring for this team.

Best idea for the Celts is to keep playing the Eastern conference, in their building.

Rondo has been playing great and if Sam can just give them 15 minutes per game it will be great. They have Pierce creating shots and if he gets in a pickle, he can pass out to Allen for a 3 or inside to KG for the 2. They have some kids who are playing really good ball right now too. Powe and a beast!

Outside the Big 3 and now Cassell. Boston has a very young team. The Big 3 aren't even that old, still in their prime, just the later stages of it.

I used to watch Powe at Cal and always said if he could keep his head strong he could be a good pro. I'm amazed how quickly big baby has stepped up but with a mentor/motivator like KG I'm sure it helps a lot. Powe and Davis have been huge. I still don't like Perkins in the late rounds of the Playoffs.

Best record and homecourt throughout would make Boston a really tough out!

They are (18-3) against the West and that includes a 23 point win against G.S., wins against Houston, S.A., Dallas, & Utah too.

They are also (2-0) against the L.A. Lakers winning home and away by 13 and 19 points. They had 1 blip on the radar during a west coast trip losing a few but (IMO), they can play with and beat anyone and they have proven that.

Always good to play the warriors on the 2nd game of a back to back...

So far they have proven the same thing that Dallas had last year, they can win in the regular season....

You must bring up their record vs LAL because they are now the "best in the West" but they weren't that way before they got Gasol...that's also when Boston beat LA

Yes, Gasol was not there BUT L.A. has not been a bad team all year. They have been very good since day 1 and when others were not beating them, Boston hammered them twice, including by 19 in their own building.

I've already said several times that the Lakers are my pick to win it all but Boston has 1 team to beat in the East to reach the finals and L.A. has a MUCH tougher path. People write off the East and i think whoever gets there (Boston or Detroit), will have a legit shot. Boston has pounded good teams in their building and right now, their record is well above the rest.

I agree that Boston looks great, I just don't give teams credit for anything that they haven't done. The playoffs start a whole new season but until now the Celts have played the best this regular season and thats all there is to go by. I think Chicago is the only bottom feeder that would even have a chance vs them in the first round. That would also mean they'd have to be playing well enough to even get in...

I must add BOS is 6-7 on the road against teams with winning records and 2 of those wins are vs TOR

I agree. I just laugh because the Chemistry had been questioned along with the ego's of these 3 guys in Boston and that has clearly never been a problem since the 1st game of the year. They are 3 good "Team" players and that was why i always thought it could/would work. Guys like Pierce, Allen and Garnett are way more interested in the ring than they are the money right now and i really believe that. None of them want to be the man. KG insisted on Pierce been introduced last at home games so that he didn't intrude. They don't feed off the spotlight and that is why it has worked.

I think Cassell will be a perfect fit here. He played with KG in Minnesota and he played with Ray Allen in Milwaukee. He is said to be really good friends with both and chemistry with him shouldn't be an issue either!

OMG ... It would bring back the good old days with Bird vs Magic. Those were the really fun years and i LOVED the NBA back then. I'm sure Bird, Parrish and McHale had something to do with that though!
