They seem to have the best chemistry in the league. This is the perfect year for them to win it when San Antonio, Phoenix, and Dallas are all in a mess.
I dont want to stop talking about Detroit because they are the one team that scares me. With Billups and Rip I think they can hang in every game with Boston. I just hope whoever they play in the series before can give them a run and wear them down a bit.
If Boston makes it out of the East, I think they win it all. The Western Conference teams are in a bit of a mess with Kidd and Shaq not doing what they were expected to right now. San Antonio could creep up, but parker has been hurt all year and you can not turn your play on like a light switch. He will be rusty and Manu can not carry them throughout the whole postseason. I would have been scared of LA a bit if Bynum was coming back early, but not he might not come back until the playoffs and that is worse for him.

I think something was lost in the translation of the original statement of this thread. I, for one, never talked about the Rockets in this thread. This thread was never about Rockets v Celtics, or Rockets v ANYBODY, but rather, that the Celtics were being handed the crown after making two great offseason acquisitions, much like the media does in the offseasons of NFL and MLB.
I still say you have to earn it, and while I admit it has worked out better ( far better) than I previously thought, I won't concede anything until they are indeed hoisting the trophy.
The big difference is, if that happens, I will be the first to congratulate all of you homers, and admit I was wrong.
However, if it doesn't happen, I know there will be not a soul in here saying GPA was right, and no apologies will be made, and since I won't expect any, I won't be disappointed.
I don't need to make any bets with anybody about whether the Celtics will make it further than the Rockets in the playoffs, because:
1) I never made it about Hou v Bos, so there is no point to be made
2) The Celtics will have much easier road in the playoffs v the East, so it is apples v oranges
3) This is a stupid argument, that has a long way to go to play out.
What I don't get, Wayne, is that you seem a reasonable, intelligent man, even admitting that the regular season meant squat for NE Pats, but fail to make any concessions with your Celts. I don't see how it is different. Especially since it was a one-game playoff in football, and it is 7-game series in NBA.
Another thing, just because I believe what I believe, cultivated from 40 + years of watching the NBA, that it makes me a bitter man to have an opinion, make a statement, and stick with it.
Nothing I have said has been disproven yet, and if and when it does, I will graciously admit if I was wrong. I have done it before, and I can do it again.

Not sure what gramps was getting at...but as far as me all I wanted was a little respect for the streak...it was only the second time any team had ever won that many...just like the Patriots were only the 2nd team to ever go 16-0...they got tons of press and tons of coverage...they were getting crowned in week 8 or 9 if i remember after the colts win...all we wanted was the streak to be recognized and respected, all we heard was they play nobody or this guy is hurt or it was back to back or this and that, i mean shit they went out and won every game, we had injuries as well we played back to back games too, other good teams lose to the cellar dwellars at times...but for 22 games we can say we did not, we overcame it all and won....was it going to last forever NO...am i a HUGE rocket fan yes...do i think they will do well in playoffs NO, cause im realistic...lots of good teams and without yao dont think we have a chance, ill be rooting em on like crazy, but im not an idiot...if i had to pick id say...celtics, pistons, spurs, lakers in no particular order...Originally posted by wayne1218The Patriots (16-0) regular season streak was very impressive too and NOBODY had ever gone (16-0) before them.
