LA is last in homers in the league...thus, the small ball play...doing okay for right now...i expect kemp, kent, furcal and garciaparra to help that matter in the future...but their hitting stinks in terms of the long ball!

Ah yes, Juan Pierre. How a guy with .281 average manages to sustain a .648 OPS, I'll never know. He should be strictly a pinch runner in the major leagues and yet somehow he finds a job as a leadoff man everywhere he goes.

ctt is .281 horrible? I've seen much worse. Look at Boston. I would LOVE to see Pierre roam CF in Boston anyday!

Personally, i think the best team in the West and the team with the best chance of reaching the WS is the Dodgers hand down. I don't trust Peavy in the Playoffs and i'm really liking Pierre, Kent, Furcal, Garciaparra and Mr. Russell Martin ALOT more than what S.D. has. (JMO)

I also forgot Luis Gonzalez who is having a very solid year. The Dodgers lineup isn't bad.

ctt, I'm glad you think so. An average under .250 annd half the steals have led to him getting booed. Coco is a bumb hitting 9th because that's all he can handle. Why do you think they've tried 4 other guys leading off this year.

pierre is great. steals bases and hits for a decent average. he has no pop but the sox dont need that. i'd trade, coco,lugo and a minor leaguer and cash to LA for pierre anyday. pierre IMO is one of the top 3 lead off hitters in baseball
