JB/Bry - the Pats didn't win superbowls because their offense outscored everyone, they Pats had a much better TEAM....i.e. and defense and special teams played a huge part in all of the Pats SB wins. The Colts D and ST have been awful. Vanderjagt has been solid, but their kick return, kick coverage and punt coverage have always been pretty poor.

Oh and dont forget Edgerrin James either. Who did brady have in the backfield???? Dillion last year yes, but the other 2 SB's wasnt is the Artist formerly known as Antwann Smith???? Are you kidding me.
Branch catches a 100 balls and is a all-pro with Manning as his QB

What I find to be the most humorous part of this thread is the degree of certainty you guys have in your estimations. No freakin way is Tom Brady better than Peyton Manning. How about the circumstances (environment) Peyton has had to go through to get to the SB the last however many years? So tom brady is better because he wins that game every year? he is playing at home with a defense that was far superior to the colts D.

Let's consider all things here people

So what about the defenses. When the chips are down, time and time again Manning comes up empty. Thats not the Defenses fault. Look @ AFC playoff games time after time. INT after INT. Manning folds up like an accordian. Difference between brady and manning is brady wouldnt choke when the game is on the line and if his teams D gave up 40points he'd find a way to get his team 41pts.

Brady also played with a team that had a great defense. Brady didn't have the pressure of having to score each and every time they had the ball. The Colts D couldn't stop anyone.

I've never been a big believer in "if you put so and so with so and so they would or wouldn't still win." Not so sure that NE wins with PM, he is someone who calls his own plays, schemes, etc. How well would he have worked with Charlie Weiss? Nobody knows. Who knows how happy Harrison and Wayne would be having the ball thrown less, and less downfield in a ball control Brady friendly offense. Nobody really knows, which is why we are moving to page four of this discussion. what has not been mentioned is that the reason the colts kept losing to NE wasn't totally Brady or Manning, it was in the fact the NE was superior in the total package of the three phases of the game, they could win on Offense, defense, or special teams. Not the case in the past with the Colts, but looks like it is this year, which is why I believe they are the best team this year.

nobody is arguing (at least I'm not) that Indy has more offensive weapons. They have, and have had, as many offensive weapons as anybody in the league the last couple of years. BUT THEIR DEFENSE GAVE UP 31 POINTS PER GAME!!!! The Pats have had a good defense and excellent special teams, and a much better coach.

Bry, you were preaching this all this same BS yesterday. Manning proved you were wrong. He won a big game. Now you are making excuses for NE.

your missing my whole point BT. My point is, brady is by far the more cooler calmer and by far the more intelligent of the 2 QBs. You dont and wont see brady making bad throws time after time after time after time. Brady has "IT" manning doesnt

that's the point i've been trying to make.....and maybe manning didn't throw those picks because he "choked", but maybe it was a great defensive scheme and a great defensive play. I'm sure the Colts had several times they could have picked off a Brady pass or made a tackle, or forced a fumble, but they didn't have playmakers on defense. Romeo always knew how to scheme for the Colts, and it showed.

This is AMAZING, the Colts are 8-0 and all of a sudden Peyton Manning and the Colts are God's freakin gift to football. I am speechless. Tom Brady is an amazing QB and to say that he is not better than Manning is ridiculous. He plays with far less talent and just WINS. This just in........Tom Bradys team has won 3 out of the last 4 superbowls........Wait a second this just in as well.....Peyton Manning has never been to the AFC championship but he puts good numbers i would rather have him as my QB

Bry, I beg to differ. I've seen Brady make numerous bad throws, in fact, throws that I've never seen Manning make. Remember the MNF (or Sunday Night) against Miami last year?
