$200 is pretty steep i think. I'm pretty sure you can find something closer to $100-$139 a night. Availability is the problem. People usually book well in advance. There are a shitload of hotel and motels up and down East Grand and West Grand Ave. Those are the 2 streets that run through oob and along the coast. Any of those are a 5 minute walk to the beach and i'm willing to bet you could find some much cheaper than $200 a night. They are not Holiday Inn's or anything like that. They are mostly just family and privately owned places. I'll get some names of places together for you and let you know. I'm not sure if you guys are looking for a secluded quiet getaway or a place to have a little fun but OOB is pretty much near everything. Tell me what kind of food you like and i can give you some good restaurants too.

OOB sounds cool. we are both sox fans so maybe going to a portland seadogs game would be a good idea. a cabin sounds like a neat idea. are they really expensive or reasonable? i dont mind paying a couple hund a night but not much more especially if we want to do other things and go out to a nice dinner each night

Old Orchard Beach are where all or most of the tourists go. There are other places too along the coast but they are a little quieter.


Long coast/beach and some good beach food. You are also 10 minutes from a water park and a place called Funtown. That's a place with some rides and stuff if you just want to walk around or ride the coaster. There is also a drive-in right near the 2 i just mentioned and the place is always packed with out of towners who like going to see 2 movies for $12 (per car) on a nice summer night. It's very cheap and fun. You are also 20 minutes from Portland. Portland is considered the "Big City" up here and that's where some good rest. are. You would also love the "Old Port down on the waterfront in Portland. A couple years ago they were labeled the most populated bar section in the country. That means within about one square mile there are like 75 "Watering Holes"! You walk around from bar to bar for hours!

You also have the Red Sox AA team up here (Portland Sea Dogs). Really cool park with a mini monster in left and a lighthouse that rises in CF when a HR is hit. Most games get close to sold out and they are a big attraction. It's pretty cool watching guys like Papelbon get his start here! Tickets are like $10 and you would want to buy them in advance.

There is not alot of B%B's up here and i'm not sure i would use the ones i've seen. In and around OOB you can rent little cabins and alot of them are a 5 minute walk to the Atlantic Ocean. There are some good bars in OOB too. At the end of the Pier there is a hopping place called the Pier Patio. You go out on the back deck and look down into the ocean. Pretty cool.

You are just like me....You hate being wrong and will argue to the death. I was wrong about hallucinating with pot, I admit it. I must have gotten laced bud. But you are wrong about this.....I can find a zillion web sites to prove it, and I can send you a photo of a frozen lobster from here that is NOT pre cooked. Frozen lobsters aren't, and the recipes are for thawing them, and baking them in an oven.....That's all I'm going to say about it.
