garth ... Wrigleyville is ridiculous with their prices ... I would look for something further out ..around O"hare Field and drive in ... $549 for a night stay ... ludicrous ...
Thanks Spark. Good advice. If I could just stay in your basement with Meg, I'd tell my brother and Dad that they're on their own.
Where did you go? Once a month and you never said hello? Hell, I lived on property...I coul dhave bought you a drink or dinner.
I won't deny that there are old people there but, here is a stat for you...the Inn had 40 local investors...paid $20m (avg of $500k per investor), average age was 47! I know I won't be able to afford that kind of change at 47!
I've been there quite a bit either taking an order or delivering special wine orders and such. It never was one of my favorite places but i honestly havn't been there probably since last summer. The people out there are filthy rich though, no doubt!
Yes, and the menu has like 5 choices all priced the same. I think a glass of water was $8
I have to say, my wife took me their for my birthday. Check was $375 for the two of us and I thought it was well worth it. She is in the F&B industry (was Manager of the Bristol Lounge in Boston for 2 years, now is the GM of a private dining facility in Boston) and she thought it was the best dining experience she ever had. It is worth going to once, if you can afford it...do you agree?
Well i'm out there about once a month and it is nothing but an old age community. Old people playing golf and Tennis everywhere. The only young people i see there are the young foreigners that were shipped in!

I would not recommend staying at the Inn but I would highly recommend the restaurant as you noted...best Dining Experience I have ever had in my life, and it was better the second time. But it is a $300 - $400 dinner for two.

too funny...but I am not sure that is the case anymore...in fact, I know it isn't. Actually quite a few younger families now. We sold 130 pool memberships just to the Prouts Neck Association last year and 100 of them had kids under the age of 18.

I mean c'mon, if you want Luxury go to one of the only 5 star approved places in the State. The White Barn Inn in K-Port. Bring about $1,000 a night though because that's what it will cost you.

3J, The average age of people within 5 miles of the Black Point rd & Inn is about 75 years old! LMAO

You could be right...I really don't know Dimer but if he is thinking of a 'romantic' weekend, I don't know if OOB does that. You can have fun at the BPI- they have kayaks, golf, tennis, bicycles..we would kayak across the bay to Pine point to a restaurant once a month for lunch, ride bikes to Higgins Beach. Clientele has changed a bit over the last couple of years...certainly still a lot of 'blue hairs', but it was more of a 50/50 mix....although I did hear today that the new Management group is making you buy breakfast and dinner with all rooms, and I would not recommend that...
It's a beautiful place 3J but i can't imagine Dimer wanting to be there unless they wanted to open up their wallet and never leave the room. He would love some of the beach bars at night.
We don't go often either but if you're young like them and want to stay near the water while having a little food and fun at night, it's not bad.
Agreed, just have to be careful as some places are hit and miss and I couldn't recommend anywhere to stay..but you are right in that it does fit in his price range (I just saw now what he is looking to spend a night)....
3J, I think you really need to think of who and what we are talking about here and that is Dimer. While those 2 places you mentioned staying in are EXTREMELY nice places, they are also very pricey and both are in a setting surrounded by a ton of "Older" people. Neither (imo) is a place Bryan and Kelly would have alot of fun at.

and my two cents about OOB, with all due respect to Wayne...but a tad 'white trashy'...it can be hit or miss. We would go once a summer just to walk around the fair for a couple of hours and play ski ball in the arcade, but that was the extent of it.
Also, take a ride to Higgins Beach, great little beach area just south of Cape Elizabeth. I will let you know if I can think of anything else.
