Again Savage, sarcasm. They quit making Horizons back in the late 80's or somewhere close. Next time have them comp you a mid-size, pretty common practice.

I think you owe several people an apology. Your rhetoric is full of hate and anger. To call people doing their jobs "animals" and "scum" says a whole lot more about you than anyone else. Those are statements of an angry, frustrated, and bigoted individual.

You can always try to change the law. Why don't you and your Congressman, Barney Frank fly down to Texas and make the comments you made in here?

Good luck buddy, I can't go back and forth with you on this one.

First of all for the record and upon further review, the Barracuda was a souped up Valiant and not a Horizon.
I am simply being sarcastic with a bit of truth to what I say about Texas and what I feel overall about the way they do things there-the red light camera in lieu of the cop is just one example.
If it wasn't for the Sox games there, there would be ZERO chance of me ever spending time in that reactionary and in some ways primitive/barbaric state again.
ps For the record I don't care for Barney Frank either-I don't improve of homosexuality and think it is a perversion of what is normal-he and all others of this persuasion should pray to god for guidance!
Who EXACTLY do I owe an apology to-perhaps George Bush! lol

Tech-thanks for your take and you make some great points.
At this point and as stated before, because of the manner in which I was informed of this(the rental car company and by regular mail), as far as I am concerned, no violation exists and even less so since it was a month and change later when I "received" the notice from this self-serving scum operation which is hired to do to dirty work for the City of Arlington or better, do the work for the Red Light Cameras of Arlington.

Don't worry- we won't be going back there anytime soon.
ps I am sure there are a lot of good people who live there, but in general, from this incident, the way in which it was handled, and the way the majority of the people think there politically, if I had to move move somewhere some day, Texas would come in LAST out of all the fifty states.

Savage sorry to hear about the abysmal way you were treated. Is this something that happens to you often or was this a one time incident?

                    • Savage, the city of Arlington will never contact you, they charged the rental car company. They have no idea who was driving. They don't care. They will get their money from the rental company. You signed a contract when you rented the car. You will have to pay them or their representative. This will never go on your driving record.

                      • Some other thoughts came to mind regarding this red light incident:
Lets say that I do receive an official citation from the city of Arlington sent by mail return receipt requested.
Now lets say hypothetically I do file the appeal and they give me a court date in Arlington and I decide to go.
Here are some of the issues-perhaps a legal person or even someone like tech fan, who is one of the few who sees the light here and has some other good points can respond:
I want and need to know if the red light camera which captured the alleged violation also is required to show up in court to defend the citation.
If this is true and since I would defend myself, I would like to know if the camera speaks and understands English or just "Cameralese."
I need to know this because if for example the camera only understands "Cameralese," then I need to either find a person who speaks and undrstands both "Cameralese" and English or more likely another camera to bring along which speaks and understands both languages so that I can ask the questions which need to be answered.
If in fact the camera doesn't speak either language and/or the representation of the City of Arlington is going to be merely someone who got the reading from the camera but who was not present when the alleged violation took place, then well to me that would not be evidence that the camera was working properly at the time and that the alleged times shown are are correct either.
Summing things up. ATM'S are great for sure and my wife sometimes likes to save time by putting money directly into one of those machines at Home Depot rather than waiting in a checkout line.
That is a lot fucking different then being told a month after an alleged red light violation occured and "sent" be a processing agency who works for rental cars that I went through a red light and that I owe them $25 and more importantly that they are the ones who should inform me and have the link on line for the city of Texas telling me and providing me with a link to pay these guys the $75-if that is the way the folks do business in Texas, I say fuckem-perhaps they can intimidate some but not folks like me!

As I stated before, in Mass. where I live, I have driven for 53 years and have NEVER been cited for running a red light.
In the past 10-15 years in fact I have been given two warnings about going slightly over the speed limit but never a citation.
My insurance agent told me when I called after "receiving" this citation, that I have an excellent record and the best possible score/lowest insurance premium possible-I intend to do all in my power to keep it that way!

Try telling that to the DMV in Mass. or my insurance company-they told me just the opposite about its going on my driving record and raising my insurance rates.

If the processing company wants to hassle me, then so be it-they can whistle for their money until/if I receive something official from the State of Texas-then we will take it from there.

                            • ps To be politically correct, I have driven for 51 years and not 53 as stated previously.

If what you say is true, then how come the online link tells me to make the $75 check out to the city of Arlington?
