      Uncle Savvy

If that is you, when the bill comes pay the fine.

Unless they doctored up the picture and made the green light red, your guilty.

Tech-I honestly don't believe it is a scam in the sense that you mention because to the best of my knowledge I was in that area at the time cited and it is the car(I remember the license plate was from Missouri).
That sais, I think it is kind of fishy that everything I received was sent regular mail from this so-called processing companyfrom Budget Rental Car including the link to the actual violation along with instructions to pay both the $25 administrative fee on line to the processing company and the $75 for the fine itself.
The fact that I have not yet received anything at all from the City of Arlington and/or the State of Texas over a month later let along registered/certified mail, makes everything suspicious and /or at the very least that Arlington/State of Texas itself doesn't take the incident that seriously-there is no guarantee that they even know what the processing company is doing.
The processing company is telling me that I am supposed to pay the $75 to the city of Arlington by various means and and even on line using my credit card at their site.
How come if this is so serious, the City of Arlington as of yet has not sent me anything?
I am very suspicious of this whole matter not exactly for the reasosn you cited but more because no matter what, I believe that if did send the $75, the processing agency would get part of the $75 along of course with their $25 processing fee.
As they say, some times the best action is no action and that is exactly what I am going to do now other than contest the $25 fee which the processing fee they say they will charge my credit card if I don't respond in a week or so.
If after all of the facts are in, the credit card says I have to pay it to keep my card in good standing, I will pay it-of course my contention will be when I see the charge appear, is that I have not received anything from anyone as it was sent regular mail.
As far as the $75 fine goes, I will appeal it IF and ONLY IF the City of Arlington sends me their noticed return receipt requested-otherwise as far as I am concerned, there is no violation and thus all due dates are null and void.
If they do all of this and I send in an appeal and lose(I will for sure if I must appear in court in Texas) and they notify Mass. of this and Mass. agrees and then sends me a notice that my license will be revoked unless I pay, I will then file an appeal with the State of Mass before paying.
If and only if I have exhausted every last option and it comes down to my having to pay the $75 or lose my license in Mass. will I pay.
Also, I will not respond to any threats from any attempts from any collection agencies hirded by the processing agency to get the $25 and/or the $75 from me-if they threaten to screw up my credit rating, let them proceed-I would rather than take my chances with that than pay it and more importantly have an increase of $200-$300 a year on my car insurance over as many as 6 years.
In short, bring it on-this is the kind of stuff I revel in!

Rob-dropped- based on what exactly-the fact that I am using my legal rights to fight something which could in addition to the fine cause a $1500 increase in my car insurance in Mass?

I just took care of this for you Savvy. I called the City of Arlington and explained to them that you need something certified mail. They said they would take care of it. No need to thank me, it was a simple phone call.

They would drop you for blatant disregard of traffic laws. After viewing the photos, I don't see how you can claim to be innocent of the charge.

I was being sarcastic when I said they would drop you. You may get away with running lights in Boston, but when in Texas, you must abide by their laws, or you must pay the price.

Really...beside for some bullshit technicality on mail delivery, how can you say that you were innocent? Didn't your wife even side with the camera?

Stubbornness can be a very foolish trait. This will cost you more to fight it, and you will end up losing.

You wonder why you catch so much shit in here? This would be one example.

Not to be a pussy, but I mention this as constructive criticism. It is ok to be wrong every so often.

I think Arlington police ticket anyone driving a white Plymouth Horizon, whether they run a light or not.

And what do I have to lose beside paying the fine and time, the latter of which I have plenty?
All I know is that I am not going to risk most importantly to $1500 being added to my insurance because of some fucking camera in the state of Texas where nothing was even posted telling me that cameras were in use-how do I know the photos or at least the time light changed weren't doctored?
The technicalities I alluded to and which you brushed aside are important to me as well the whole possibility of collusion between the city of Arlington and the folks who do the processing of for the rental company.
Sorry if this offends anyone and/or whether it is directly related to the ssue or not, but I have no respect for or confidence in a state which brags about how many inmates they execute in a year or in this case the sneaky/devious way they do things-if the scum who reside in Texas want to issue a citation, use a sneaky way to do it and then hire some other low life scum to do their dirty work and send me a notice a month after it happened, fuck em-they aren't dealing with somebody who is intimidated nor someone who won't stand up to them and fight them tooth and nail to the end!!!

Ask them also if I don't pay it and show up in Texas, whether I will be a arrested and possibly executed? These animals love to make examples of folks and I wouldn't put it past them!

Settle down old timer, I didn't mean to get your Depends in a wad.

What it comes down to is very minor compared to what is happening in the real world. I know this is a big deal for you, but if this is your biggest problem in life, you have it made. I know many people who would make a trade with you in a heart beat.

Do what you have to. I know it will all work out in the end.

For that matter what Sebastian, NC and other corrupt sports services so are minor to what goes in the world also-I expose them and enjoy bringing this to the attention of those who read what I say.
No what am I doing is not important in relation to what is happening in the world-we elect people to take care of some of this-some of it is beyond their control.
In this case, I am merely doing what my gut and a few other "old timers" who have been around he block a "few" times, have said what the best course of action is at this juncture, which is NOTHING!

What you meant to say is that the Arlington CAMERAS tickett cars(my car was not a Plymouth Horizon lol) because the police are too busy chowing down at Dunkin Donuts or in their police cars to do it themselves to worry about what they get paid to do.

Hey Rob-its funny you mentioned Plymouth Horizon-the first car I ever owned was back in 1966 as a college senior at UMass and it was a beige colored Plymouth Barracuda, which was in essence a souped up Horizon with a hatchback-the chicks liked it also! lol
