ps FWIW, the lady at the insurance company said that currently I have the highest possible score with driver rating although that that would have no bearing on the DMV issuing points-hopefully you can understand why I am pissed over all of this.

My son just got a ticket for speeding, it got reported to some type of clearing house in Colorado. So my understanding is all states report the moving violations to one place for the insurance companies to run a check on.

Was it a camera violation or was it issued by a cop?
Also, one other thing that I haven't mentioned is this:
In Texas, along with every other state, there are speed limits posted along for example with signs saying such things as construction with men working-speeing fines doubled.
How come there are no signs in Texas telling/warning people that cameras are in operation at traffic lights-might that make people think twice before going through one and especially one which changes right around the time that a driver is at the intersection(like I was) and more importantly, couldn't this possibly prevent an accident?
The answer is obvious-the logic is good but the State of Texas also realizes that if they did that, they would have fewer people going through them and hence less money for the State of Texas.

It's common knowledge that they are in operation. You should have done your due diligence on the states traffic laws.

You are entitled to your opinion.
If the State of Texas wants to take the lazy way out by using cameras rather than live policeman to catch people , they owe it to tell/advise folks this at selected places along the roads both in fairness and to prevent accidents.
ps I never said that I didn't possibly go through it-just stating or trying to imply that what I did was not a flagrant violation and not worth a possible $1500 to my car insurance as well as the $75 fine-my excellent driving record speaks for itself!

And for the record...I paid them both...no questions asked...

It was me driving the car in both situations...I knew it was me...It was the right thing to do to pay the fines.

That may be, but if you lived in Mass. where I do and was told by someone who works for the DMV that I could have my insurance rates raisd by $200-$300 a year for up to sis years, maybe you might have thought differently.
You did what was right for you-I must do what is right for me.

It appears that they are going to allow the Budget Rental Car Processing Company do their dirty work and try to scare me into paying both their $25 processing fee and the $75 fine itself-good luck.
Perhaps if they sent me a notice return receipt requested, it might help their cause.
All I can say is bring it on.
On the other hand, if I don't pay it, I probably won't go back to Texas because this state is known and prides itself on legalized executions, and I might very be on their hit list.

I know one thing-no red light camera was needed to spot a Red Sox Mercedes car with the license plate COLLAPSE driven wrecklessly by Theo Epstein and members of his FO.
In fact this vehicle was last seen LIVE on tv all over the US LIVE plunging off a mountain top somewhere in the Baltimore,Maryland area-it is not known yet if there are any survivors.

this should give you a hint its a possible scam.Do you know all a guy that works for this Rental Car co has to do is get a list of everyone that rented a white hyundai and send them this picture along with this ticket # and everyone would go and see it and not being around that area and it not being your normal every day car the person would not notice,
