That's because a lot of couples are married for the wrong reasons or simply not committed as they should be. Plain & simple.

I was engaged to 3 different women in my 20's and i never made it to the alter with any of them. Things just never felt right after the engagement. I was with this one 6 years before proposing and after being engaged for 3 years, we tied the knot (14 months ago). I am like night & day with her compared to this forum with the guys. We tried thinking about the fights we have had over the last 10 years and we couldn't think of one. Our friends think it is crazy and some say "It isn't healthy not fighting". Really? I thought it wasn't healthy to fight all the time. I have been in those relationships too. We never ever fight because we truly are on the same page 99% of the time and the other % can go either way because we don't think the little things are worth fighting about. I post porn pics here and she sees and laughs, i gamble, she asks who "We" got. I could not have found a better partner.

savage wants his life on a forum on the net and he wants it all public, it will be public. And when he asks these questions, he will get blunt answers.

See, nobody cares that savage is with who he is. The problem is that he keeps explaining it like it was love at 1st site or not a purchase. Please, look at what it cost him to get and keep her. She basically went through an interview to get him and her lottery ticket out of hell was savage. Good for both of them but people are sick of him being dillusional on his marriage. Let's face it, she had a contract for the 1st three years and on and on and on. He acts like it was a chance meeting and they fell in love when in fact, he researched love and that is impossible based on the definition of true love. At least most of our definitions on it.

Just curious MM if these stats take into consideration:

teenagers who thought they were ready to commit for life at 17/18/19 yrs old

those who just met and 3 days later ran to the justice/ court house/ vegas/ etc. because they thought they were in love

I think that there are so many variables to getting a divorce. Not just your basic he/she cant stand eachother, etc.

I have been married for 17 years.

                        Agreed!

Too many people rush in to marriage and for the wrong reasons as i stated.

Those are definitely things to take into consideration and the rate for divorce are definitely higher for ages 17-30.

I work with a lot of diverse people and its almost become the norm that someone is either unhappy, cheating, or headed for the divorce court and it just seems to me that when I hear someone say they have a great marriage it just isnt something I hear on a daily basis anymore.

                            • You also have to look at what they are giving up. It's not as easy as people think it is. They have to leave their family and friends behind to come to a foreign place that they don't know. Family values in Foreign countries are typically a higher priority than in the USA. Meaning that most families live together until the children are married, get together all of the time etc.

And there are women in the USA looking for men outside of the USA as well.

The bottom line comes down to whether or not Savage is happy and not what we think (even though he's asking ?'s).
