    Wayne,

Spyware Doctor is a big program. I had the same problem once. I would not suggest to shut down Norton. I would kill the SW Doctor for now and run a scan once a week. Once you upgrade your computer, you will be able to run both at the same time.

My commit charge was way over the limits, and the computer was real slow. I have 2 processors now in my computer, so it flys. My commit charge is now 683M/2461M

So delete Spyware doctor after the scans are complete and run Norton once a week?

No, do not delete Spyware Doctor. Just shut it down from running. Start it back up, say on Mondays, and run a scan.

I will put in another plug to buy a Mac. They are mostly virus free. You dont need virus protection. With the new systems and Leopard OS, you can easily run Windows and the Mac OS on the same computer and the features are cool as hell. Find a Mac store and have them at least show you what the Mac can do. You won't regret it one bit. I've used both. No comparison....JMO

                        Hi Wayne,

I had this problem before and this is how I got rid of it.....
the key to this pest is to turn it off on startup so use msconfig to uncheck this program from the startup.
Then you can use all the adaware08 and other programs recommended to clean the PC.

In regards to the blue background, you have to do a regedit to adjust to normal.
I'll get back to you to find the path to this later.
                        Hope this helps.....

                        1* 9-4
                        total = 16-6-1

                              1) click on 'start' ---> 'run'
                              2) type 'msconfig'
                              3) in the system configuration utility select 'selective startup'
                              4) now click on the startup tab and deselect all the items from the list which you don't want the computer to run on start up.
                              5) click on apply and then restart your computer.

Note: It may take some time to identify which items to check and which to uncheck. Some items will be easy to identify (e.g., microsoft office), some may be slightly confusing (e.g., realsched), and some will be hopelessly cryptic (e.g., 000stthk or qfsschd110). If you cannot determine what an entry is (and therefore whether you should uncheck it or not), you may want to use a search engine to research the individual entry. Keep in mind there acre some entries that you should avoid unchecking (norton virus scanners).

Always keep anything that starts with msxxxx that stands for microsoft

this will also make you computer run a lot faster because all of the programs you see on that screen are running in the back ground sucking up your memory if you need help email me and i will talk you threw it step by step

I agree with LSU. Don't leave Spyware Dr running 24/7. Shut it down. Then run scans once a week.
