You definitely need more RAM then to improve the speed. I have to get to class, but I'll try and help you out more later on if I don't go to the bar for the game

kb, I have a high speed connection and i have never had a problem with speed though until this incident today. We have a laptop that is about 1.5 years old and that has run fast and virus free since day 1. We have been saying we need a new home computer but we were just holding out until we "Really" needed one. I guess i could go to Dell and order one. I just hate having to save everything from this one!

I'm telling ya, my friend is a computer whiz, and he says as long as there are RAM upgrades for your comp, as long as you keep up with the updates, you shoudn't need a new one. Just need to add more RAM for speed. Prolly need to run the disk fragmentor also
Get rid of Norton. That should help speed things up a bit.
Did you see my post above about that? Does the SpyDoctor do the same thing as Norton? I want to make sure before i delete Norton because i want to make sure my computer is protected? Thanks!

No, it's not quite the same thing. You could download AVG version 8.0 and would do the same thing while freeing up system resources, but there may be other factors slowing it down.
It's pretty easy to add RAM if you have an open slot. I imagine that thing will be pretty dusty if you're opening it up for the first time in 4.5 years.
