  • Wayne.....it's good to have you back.

The most excitement we had this week was listening to SPARK's arteries harden.

      • Speaking of autographs and Red Sox...here is a classic case what comes around goes around...
Back in 1978, My dad would take my brother and I to the Big A and see the Red sox play the Angles. This particular year, my grandpa, who was born and raised in Webster, MA and a life long Sox fan, attended the game with us that day.
Before the game, my grandpa saw Jim Rice talking to some fans near the left field outfield fence.
My grandpa, decided to walk my bro and I down to where Rice was chatting and ask for his autograph on our behalf.
My grandpa was very respectful and told Rice that he was life long Sox fan and really thought highly of his playing ability. Before my grandpa could finish, Rice lashes out and said "Listen I don't need your life story, do you want me to sign or what"
Out of respect for us, grandpa allowed Rice to sign our programs and we went back to our seats. My grandpa was fuming most the game over the entire incident.
Well late in the game, Joe Rudi hits a solid line drive to left and Rice comes in to field the ball. What should have been a routine single turned into a inside-the-park HR (actually a 1B, with a 3-base error), and the Angels won the game.
Needless to say, my grandpa was thrilled with the play.
Poetic Justice was served and I will never forget that play for the rest of my life.

        • Just got off the phone with the line maker @ Pinnacle he told me that the reason Wayne is a favorite is cause he is approx. 20yrs younger than Savage1.

            • Savage...thanks for the props.

It's a great thread with valid points on both sides...and then thrown in the 10dimebry humor, and it's that much better.

Wayne I agree...seeing it first hand for two days like you did is just totally different then seeing the edited version on TV. You can't fake, spin, edit, re-take what Wayne experienced....and coming from a die hard Red Sox Fan that it seems Wayne is...that shows me a lot of credence to what he says.

Wow....20 years? You would think the line would be higher.

Maybe savage is a value play.

Oh...I don't know. I guess I just wanted to call attention to myself. I had sunk down to 9th and now i'm in 4th.

Horses? Yes, not people or even comparable. You have lost your mind. Compare with something that actually SPEAKS next time. OMG your amazing!
Glad I am not the only one who feels this way!

                            • Wayne-You still didn't answer my horse analogy-the point is that one should not jump to conclusions so quickly.
You don't like horses, well lets try airlines.
Lets say that you were going on a trip and decided to research which airline was the best based on what reputable magazines had to say, for example Consumer Reports.
Lets say that the magazines all said that the readers and past evidencefor years saiys for the sake of example that Delta was the best.
Now lets say you take a Delta flight and on either your departure flight or returning flight or maybe both, everything is awful-the plane is late, the baggage is also late arriving, the food is rotten, the flight attendants are aloof.
Now the difference is that you probably would come back and say Delta sucks and mention all the reasons stated and say you would never use them again.
If I took the same trip, I would come back disappointed and would probably conclude that I picked the wrong time to go.
Based on their very fine verified record in the past, I would give them a second chance.
I think this is appropriate to our discussion because you are making some sweeping generalizations about Wakefield based on a bad experience, when his long track record posted by me and even Rook shows something entirely different.

                              • savage ... AGAIN .... I gave him a 2nd chance Wednesday and he was still an ASS. Would you go on Delta a 3rd time OR would you wake up and realize there might be better airlines there and not base it on a review you READ?

This response should drive my point across, if not, i don't know what to tell you!
