What's up guys!
We left C-Town at 8 this morning and we arrived home (FINALLY) at 7:30 tonight. What a long F-ING drive!
Day 1 - Drove all day to get there and pretty much went out to dinner and settled into the hotel after that.
Day 2 - We went down to see the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and then we went to the Browns Stadium. Both were pretty cool and i have to say i've never seen a "Lake" the size of Erie ... EVER! It looks like the ocean does here, it's amazing. We have some what i thought were big lakes in our state but you can look around and see land. Lake Erie was HUGE! We went to Jacob's Field and saw the Sox win 10-9 Monday night. It was a GREAT game and Foulke Almost blew it in the end. I could not believe how many Red Sox fans were there. That too was AMAZING! Some Indians fans were not nice but overall it wasn't too bad.
Day 3 - Cedar Point. All i can say is ..... HOLY SHIT! I can see why it's been voted the Best 7 years running! WOW! We didn't get back to the Hotel until 11 pm that night. We didn't see the Sox game because we had tickets for games 1 & 3 only and planned the gm. 2 day as a Cedar Point trip.
Day 4 - This day was the BEST! We went to the Tower m-all downtown because we wanted to check it out and have lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. I bought a couple baseballs because after Monday it seemed to be an easy place to grab a couple autographs. In Boston it's impossible to get close to them with security and such during Batting Practice. Well, come to find out the Red Sox were staying at the Ritz-Carlton in the m-all. As we were walking around i noticed Matt Clement Standing down the hall from the Hard Rock talking with his family. We went up and talked to him for a few minutes, grabbed some pictures with him and had him sign a ball. He was a pretty nice guy and he was very generous with us crazed Sox fans.
After that we went in to the Hard Rock for lunch and as we were waiting for our meal Trot Nixon walked in with 3 friends and was seated at the table right behind me. It was kind of funny because i turned around and was like "Holy Shit, Trot Nixon"! He smiled and was very kind in letting us bother him for a few minutes before he ordered. He was with 3 friends, not other players. He signed a few balls for us and my girlfriends friend (who is in love with Nixon) asked to take pictures with him. He was kind enough to let her and unlike Clement he had his World Series Ring on. HOLY SHIT YOU SHOULD SEE THIS THING! I couldn't believe it but she asked to see it and he removed it for us and he let us hold it and check it out. I figured he would give us a picture with it on his hand but i never thought he would let us take it for a couple minutes and check it out. That was AWESOME and i don't know anyone that has had the actual players ring in their hand, it was really the highlight of my vacation. We saw a few others like Mueller, Wells, Arroyo, Wakefield, and Embree but they were walking quickly from the hotel door to a car bringing them to the game and they didn't say much.
Day 5 - Today and we headed home.
The trip was really a good time and it was the 1st time i've seen a game outside of Fenway Park! I bought a shirt before Wednesdays game in the m-all. It said "Got Titles" on the front and the back said "Home of the 2004 World Series and Super Bowl Champions" It showed both trophies and listed all 3 N.E. Patriot Titles with the word "Dynasty" under it. It was the coolest shirt i have ever seen. All the Red Sox fans at Jacobs Field were asking where i bought it and all the Indians fans were just staring at it and shaking their heads while throwing dirty looks my way. It was GREAT! We had a BLAST at the games and when Boston came back Wednesday night with 2 in the 8th and 1 in the 9th to Win it we started a "SWEEP" Chant and all C-Town fans were extremely annoyed! It was a little dangerous after last nights game because Cleveland fan was very bitter about being SWEEEEPT! :D
All in all a very good time and everything above was in walking distance except Cedar Point. That was VERY conveniant. The one bitch i had about Cleveland was a major ass bug problem. They had these damn flying gnats or something everwhere and just stuck all over doors of everything. We couldn't figure out what the hell that was all about but walking around town they seemed to be everywhere. It was pretty disgusting but other than that the city treated us very well!
I hope you didn't quit reading halfway through and i also hope you all had a great week!
