Sounds good, it really shows that the Sox are just like regular guys. It's cool to hear that they treated you guys well. Any thoughts on the series this weekend with the Phils? Wakefield -110 tomorrow looks wayyyyyy too easy. Sox have obviously saw Leiber before but I can't see that many of the Phils have seen Wakefield. I'll see if they faced him last year when they played.

Mike i have not looked at any lines or games in about 4-5 days. I didn't even know what the matchups were. I heard them say on Baseball tonight that the Phils have not come back to win once all year when trailing after the 6th inning. They said it was AMAZING and i have to agree. They need to find a way to get some of those wins to compete. The funny thing is that Larry Bowa was the one that said it. I was looking at the standings earlier and 2 things really stand out. How the hell is Washinbgton running away with that division and how is Florida playing so badly with that team. Crazy, crazy shit!

One other thing. Tim Wakefield and David Wells are both ASSHOLES! I heard some Boston fans talking about bad experiences while running into them in Cleveland. Wells was no big surprise but Wakefield was. Also, Damon was talking, giving balls, laughing, and playing with fans from start to finish each day. What a character and a GREAT guy! He is by far one of the most popular Red Sox players right now and has been for the last 2-3 years! He is fun to watch ..... off the field!

Fla's pitching not holding up like they expected. They thought their big 3 would carry them Willis, Beckett, and Burnett. Looks like Phils faced Pedro, Curt, and Arroyo only beating Arroyo. Lots of free swingers on this Phillies team. I can't see them being patient enough to hit Wakefield. Should be a fun series!

Nobody i talked to saw Manny or Ortiz off the field. Manny was getting blistered the whole series with boo's and hecklers. It was bad and each play in the field or at the plate brought the worst out of the crowd. I think he got the last laugh though homering in both games 1 & 2.

Wayne-I am surprised by what you said about Wakefield.
Perhaps you are right, but lets not forget all the wonderful charity work he has done while with the Red Sox;I always thought of him as a model citizen and admire him(at least based on what I know of him).

I thought the same about him savage but remember, alot of those guys do some of those charity things just to "put their time in" and have it on their resime. Agents try to get them here or there at times too and it's not always something they enjoy to do. Wakefield turned his back on the huge crowd of Boston fans like me that were there right at 5:30 when the gates opened to watch the Sox batting practice. I was against the fence near their dugout and even with 1st base. There was nobody in front of me and everytime he walked by and people were screaming for him he ignored every one without even a look or smile. We could reach out and touch him he was so close. I talked to people from R.I. and Mass. that were at the games and they saw him in the M-all the day before. They said when they asked for an autograph that he grabbed the paper and pen than literally threw it back at them without saying a word and the other couple said when they asked he refused and told them to give him his space. What the hell does he expect walking around in the damn m-all? 90% of the players would talk and appreciate us the fans who drove or flew to Cleveland just to watch them. They said the Loyalty with Sox Fans is really amazing and unmatched, then you have A-Holes like Wells and Wakefield who don't want to be bothered!

I actually talked to some Cleveland fans that were pretty nice to us and they wished us well and a safe trip home. They said they had NEVER seen a road team bring as many fans as Boston does. They said the mix of transplants and people that travelled there was unbelieveable. I told them it was cheaper to see a game in Cleveland than it was in Boston. I would say there was at least 30% Red Sox fans and when they scored it was like the Home team was Boston. Very Weird as a road fan viewing that. I expected to be by myself rooting for them. They were Season ticket holders and they said no other team brings hardly any road following. They said the one and only team even Close to Boston was of course, the Yankees!

I had the game on last night while in the other room and kept getting confused. I had Clev so was listening for the crowd noise but whenever the Sox did anything it was just as loud. Was really pissing me off thanks buddy!

Mike you would not have believed it. The Boston gear was EVERYWHERE and much more noticeable than the Cleveland attire. It was really pissing Indians fans off. :D

They should appreciate it because the ushers said for a Mon-Wed series that it was a GREAT crowd turnout for the Indians and i think they can thank N.E. for alot of that. It was funny, everywhere i went in my hotel people had Sox hats and shirts on. We were all laughing about how we were taking over the City!

                                Wayne,
I hear you and agree that he should have been more patient.
On the other hand, perhaps if you or I were a professional athlete and had been besieged by people all day, we might not think as we do right now.
I remember Dwight Evans was also regarded highly for his charity work and giving something back to the community.
I remember though may years ago while watching Sox play Texas at Pompano Beach in Florida, Dwight just walked very quickly right by a bunch of autograph seekers, which surprised me.
That being said and seeing it happen only on that one day, I didn't change my overall perception of him.
Back in 1978 I was at an Atlanta/ Red Sox game and there was a ton of people including myself huddled around Yaz.
I told him where I was from,we talked for a minute and he autographed a ball for me.
He then went on and very patiently signed for everyone else;I will never forget that.
