The very first time I placed a bet like 3 years ago.....Made a 4 team parlay: Pittsburgh Pirates -1.5 John Suppan pitching, New York Mets with Tom Glavine, the Cards and the Florida Marlins, I had already won the first three games and the Marlins were winning 3 - 0 when I left home to play a softball game, I thought woowww this betting thing is really easy, so after the game I went to the book to get my money and the first thing I see when I enter the place is a TV on ESPNEWS showing how the MARLINS had lost in the 9th inning earning 4 runs................

worst loss for me is easy to remember, although I've had plenty......Mets playoff series few years back, I've got the over of 8 or 8', can't remember, looks like it's a sure loss, then with the game tied at 3, Robin Ventura hits a walk-off grand slam to make me a miracle winner, 7-3. Went to bed a happy man......
Until I woke up the next morning and found out that Ventura got mobbed by his teammates before he got to 2nd base and none of the other runs counted.
The other 2 I clearly remember, one was a MNF game with the Steelers and I believe Jags back in the 90's. I had Jax +3, with only 2 seconds on the clock, Jax is down by 2 and attempting a FG....could care less if he made it or missed it, as it wasn't going to OT. Well, you guessed it....blocked FG returned for a TD.
Then 2 years ago, I have Carolina + the points (7?) in a very large bet vs. TB. Game's over, Carolina down 4 or 5 with only a few seconds left, no timeouts and at their own 30 or 35 yard line. Rodney Peete gets his dumb-ass sacked, fumbles and the Bucs return it for a TD as time expires.

Here are two that go back a few years one Basketball, one Football.
Knicks winning by 8 or 9 and covering by one with a couple seconds left on the clock. They got the ball under there own basket, taken it from out of bounds no defender around. On the endbound pass the knick player knowing they won lays the ball in his own basket. Knick don't cover and the papers the next day ask was this one FIXED.
Superbowl game with Oakland, I'm in a $100.00 square pool and have the half in a bag. A couple of seconds left the ball on the 2 or 3, 98 or 97 yards away from a TD. They're going to sit on it and go to the locker room, right. Wrong, I've got a couple of grand coming and buy a round of drinks for the bar but what happens. Pass to the flats intercepted Touch DOWN. and that why they call me the wizz.

This one is easy...and mucho painful.
Game 6 of NLCS in 2003 Prior vs Pavano....
My girlfriend (wife now) and I drove from SC to Chicago to watch the game. A buddy of mine had the tickets and it was funny because if the Cubs would have won game 5.....we wouldn't have been there. So I was half rooting for the cubs and half not, cause I wanted to see the game and be there for the clincher.
So I had made some major money on the Cubs in the Braves series, and made a good check on them in the Florida series, but I put my biggest bet that I have ever had on the Cubs moneyline in game 6. I think the chalk was about -210 or so but I didn't care. Prior on the mound...game 6 at home...there was NO WAY they would lose.
I walk in the ballpark, and I'll be honest, I friggin had tears running down my face when we came out of the tunnel. The crowd an hour before the game was just electric. I never in my life thought I'd see a cubs playoff game, let alone the clincher. Dawn looked at me and laughed, but she finally understood later on. Our seats were on the 3rd base side about 10 rows back from left field. And yes, we were right there where the infamous Mr. Bartman was.
So 3-0 in the 8th inning, and people all over are talking about where they are going to go to celebrate. I had chills. I couldn't believe that I was going to witness history. One out...and I turn around with my camera and take a picture of the 3rd base scoreboard that said Cubs 3 Marlins 0 1 out.
You know what happened next.........
We sat 10 rows from where it happened...and the funniest thing about it is that we all thought it was the guy NEXT to Bartman. Those two poor bastards.
If only Gonzo could have fielded that ground ball........
Oh it still hurts...the wallet and the heart.
I need to cry now.
