      JEFF BENTON

Ok, so the Royals swept the White Sox. That free pick loser makes me 3-1 this week, 8-3 last 11 and 30-13 last 43.

Tonight, I am going to ride the Tampa Bay and red hot Brazelton. He is going for his 4th straight win and believe me, he will get it.

Brazelton has surrendered a total four runs through 18 1/3 innings over his last three starts, while amassing a 2-0 mark. He owned Toronto his last start, permitting just three hits and a run over 6 2/3 innings. Brazelton, who hasn't lost since July 17, struck out four and walked two in the winning effort.

Brazelton, in his third major league season, will be facing the Mariners for the first time in his career.

Ryan Franklin is in the middle of a nightmare and he just can't wake up. It has been a while since Franklin has gotten in the win column, as he has lost eight consecutive decisions dating back to a victory over the Yankees on May 7. On Monday, Franklin gave up six hits and three runs over seven innings in a loss to Anaheim.

Lets go ahead and make that 9 in a row tonight.

      3* TAMPA BAY

        Guaranteed Pick: Big Al Mcmordie
Game: Seattle Mariners at Tampa Bay Devil Rays Aug 6 2004 7:15PM
        Prediction: Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Reason: At 7:15 PM, our American League Game of the Week is on Tampa Bay with Dewon Brazleton over Seattle and Ryan Franklin. The Mariners won 4-2 last night, but that was just their 2nd win on the road of their last 20, and the Mariners are also a miserable 7-32 away from home vs. right-handed starters. And this will be a tough righty for the Mariners' hitters tonight, as Brazleton has been super this season (4-3, 2.89 ERA), and especially so at home where his ERA is 1.70. Over his last 3 starts, Brazleton's ERA is 1.90, while Franklin has been awful away from pitcher-friendly Safeco Field (6.18 Road ERA). So let's fade Franklin and the M's tonight, and make Tampa our American League Game of the Week. Good luck, as always...Al McMordie.

New York Mets at St. Louis Cardinals

              3* Mets +140

This would appear to be an excellent spot for the underdog tonight at Busch. The Cardinals weren't exactly overpowering against the Expos recording two one-run victories and blowing a 6-2 lead in the opener of that series. Matt Morris gave up eight earned runs in his last start but more importantly has been tagged for an insane 26 home runs this year. The Mets are 8-6 with Tom Glavine on the road and 17-26 with the rest of the staff. Glavine is 7-2 against St. Louis personally since '97 and his teams are 10-3 in his 13 starts with the Redbirds. New York was extremely productive in sweeping the Brewers at Milwaukee with 26 runs on 32 hits. The Cardinals are 7-14 the past three years with Morris when he works on either five or six days of rest (5 tonight). The Mets are 6-1 with Glavine as a road underdog this year. Watch the Mets steal game #1.

Re:Tallahasse's GOY on the Yankees, it may win but in my opinion it shows poor judgment on the part of the service out of all the thousands of games played this year to give out an almost 3-1 favorite as the GOY.
I recall some service told its customers to give 6 or 7 to one odds on the Lakers to defeat the Pistons in the NBA finals also. Enough said.
That being said, if I had to make the choice between playing this GOY at almost 3-1 as opposed to Big Al's stupid and bigtime losing GOY pick on the Diamondbacks against LA a few weeks ago, I would choose the Yankee pick.

Gotta agree savage, its like they waited to find the highest line this year, personally I think the run line is too high, but I would never bet such a high ML

Ridiculous.... With all the other good match-ups going nightly at good prices this guy picks this game.... What a joke...
