Well then my question to you and to any handicapper is why
screw around betting on 2 lousy teams when there are
quality teams to bet on. At least bet on a team with a winning
record. There are reasons why losing teams have losing
records they do not have good enough players or coaches.
It is like betting on a coin flip would you do that? You have
to go with the best teams as your chances are better and
as I say there is just no reason to have to pick a game
with teams with losing records as there are always games
with at least 1 team with a winning record.

That's another problem with paying for picks. Their cost. A $100 player cant justify paying even $10 for a pick. With vig to breakeven you need 55% winners.

bulldogbourne, read the history of some of the free plays posted at this site. There's a few who are very good. If you like college BB play frazer43 selections. EZ posts CBB and NBA everyday. His selection are good. Homer and Wayne also posts solid selections.

be careful with that logic, NONE of these services care about making you money, they only care about making themselves money

they may happen to make you money occasionally, but like frankb said, instead of paying for their picks, pay attention to this site, get a feel of some of the cappers around here posting stuff for free and go with it

i guarantee you plenty of us are = or better than 'the services'..........if you are a beginning or somewhat educated gambler, try picking your own games and then check some of the cappers around here and then play them

the people on this site are honest, and if you see someone post a record, it is their real record, and if someone posts an amount of units they are up, that will be legit too

do not fall into BS service talk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

        good luck

one more thing to all of you on this post, YOU GUYS ARE OLD!!!!!! i am just 33.......sweet.................JUST KIDDING, y'all are great
        good luck

swradio, you are correct. For me to make any selection on the Magic or Wizard it'll have to be very good reason like their opponent lost in double overtime the night before. I liked the Clippers last night but I didn't make a wager on them. However, I LOVE playing against the Mavs as a road favorite. Would I play the Magic at home getting points from the Mavs? Probably not!

My top play last night was on the Heat. The Heat are an average team but I liked the spot. The Heat at home off a 20+ home loss against the Bulls off a victory that has won once on the road after a home win in 2 years.

The point! Handicap your own games. Find spots and situations. Ask questions to other members on this site. You'll get honest answers and opinions. Surf the web. We have access to huge amounts of data. View box scores from previous games. Teams who shoot light out usually come out firing duds the next game. Teams who shoot below 40% usuall shoot better the next game. I usually like playing teams after they were blown out. There's usually some value in the line. The average player would say "The Heat lost by 20 at home they suck. I'm gonna play against them at home" etc.

Yes there are some people on this site who are good at picking
games so just keep monitoring this site and keep track of the
            different posters picks.

You say you have used the Goldsheet but if you look what
handicappers like that pick for each game you will see that
most of the time if you pick the oposite what the majority
of them pick you will do ok.

swradio, I saw this post game interview not too long ago. It really hit home and has helped me handicapping NBA. A good team lost at home as big favorites. In the interview the player essentially said "who cares? This is one game in a 82 game season." It makes you realize that there will be spots to play against even a good team at home.

Perfect example. Last Saturday's Spurs game at home against the 76ers. What a dud by the Spurs. I didn't realize till Monday what happened. They were looking ahead to the Nuggets game on Monday. They were blown out by the Nuggets the 2nd game of the season. I had a huge play on the Spurs Monday. An easy winner.

Pick your spots. There's some every night.

You are right you have to smell those games out. You have to
be able to read teams as to what the players and coaches
are thinking. The best thing you can do is read and or listen
to what they say by listening to their own comments and not
someone else saying what they think for the players and
                coaches.

What a reply you gave but I know you are wrong about North
Coast. The 2 weeks I PAID for his service he gave out the
worst games I would not think the worst moron on earth would
pick. The very wrong thing of it is with Phil I will Steel your money
money is you do not know what games he is going to do until
you pay and if you don't like them them and don't bet on them
then you just wasted your money for nothing. I will give you
one of the games he picked which he lost it was Detroit and
Chicago. What horrible losing teams to pick unless you work
for a casino and they are not getting enough action on that
game. I would not ever dream that the worst moron on earth
would pick such a game to bet on with 2 sorry losing teams
playing each other. He went 1-2 and 0-3 in the pros the 2
weeks I used North Coast. In college he was worse going
2-5 one week and I forget the other week but is was not
any good. I did not bet on all the games thank god and called
and let them know what I thought of them. I totally disagree
with what you say about these handicappers just missing games
like the Georgia Tech Tulsa game as there is no way anyone
who is serious could just miss a game like that. They just don't
miss pick games as the games they lose they lose so big it
                  is incredible.

FOR GODS SAKE A MONKEY OR A ROBOT COULD DO BETTER THAN
                  THESE PHONY LIARS.

Their losses are just to mathematically impossible to be by
chace and has to deliberate and it is so their fraud won't
                  work with me anymore.

                  ************************************************** ************************************************** ****

Don't get pissed at me, there's nothing personal in what we're talkin about. However, I am aware of the Detroit loser versus Chicago that NC released on Nov 2...I lost on it too. But, again man, I'm simply saying you have to keep things in perspective, One game is one game. You're right in that Detroit isn't a very good team. That, however, shouldn't prevent playing them in the right situation. JUST WANTED TO REMIND YOU THAT ON NOVEMBER 9 (One week after Phil gave us the most horrrible team imaginable) THIS SAME LIONS TEAM BEAT ST. LOUIS STRAIGHT UP BY 10!!!!

One more thing, the amount of action a book has on a game is not even relevant to them....You do understand that books operate on a system of balance, don't you? They ARE NOT GAMBLERS...They're commissioned brokers, and they are in the business for nothing other than their 10%???

Savage you're right about services motives. It is them first and us second. But like any other good business, they want to retain customers so the good ones do strive as hard as possible to release winning plays. RADIO, since I pay annually for NC Excecutive Club I don't pay for individual calls. But even shelling out $3500 a year, I still don't know what games Phil is releasing. I will admit that NC had a tough year in the colleges this year, and in the pros, I had four losing weeks with the late phones. For the regular season, though, the NC late phones were 38-21-5 for +48 *s. Listen, I'm not trying to sell NC service for them. Whether anybody buys him or not I don't care. I'm simply trying to point out that not all services are crooks. One criticism of NC is that, like all other services, they put their best foot forward with their marketing. I've never found anything in any of their literature thats a lie, but they will sure praise the winners before denouncing the losers.

                  Again GL

Fella's let not forget one very important point. It's just as hard to pick one sure loser as it is to pick one sure winner. I'd love to have one sure loser everynight. I'd make millions.

BiloxiUMreb, I don't think there is a single services that truly cares whether their selections win or loss.

There are services like Wayne Root who doesn't care at all. He goes on national TV to gain maximum exposure. I'm certain from his show he gains 100s of clients every week that never bet a game in their life but are only doing so because of some quick get rich dreams.

Not trying to pump my service but I actually do care about my clients and how they do. They shouldnt have to pay for losing picks. If I have a big pick going that day, and it loses, I refund my customer's money and give them a week free of plays. I know it doesn't get there money back from the loss, but if they play my picks for that week, you will get it back most of the time.
I think the hardest thing for services not to do is to pump up big plays. It will always draw more customers if you turn your 3 unit play into a NFC Game of the year. Most newbies would buy the big marketing ad over the steady winning theory.

No I am not mad at you I am sorry if it came across that way.
I don't want people to get the wrong idea about what I mean.
I do want to say one thing about NorthCoast that is good and
that is their Top games are very good but those are very few
during the year. I feel though that North Coast uses them as
a ploy to get people to think that is what they can expect as
a standard performance. The thing that puzzles me is if he can
do so good of those picks then why did he do so bad on his
other picks. That just don't make sense. I met someone that
knew about handicappers and he said they were all affiliated
with casinos. I called Northcoast and asked them about that
and they did freely admit that Phil did have something to do
with a casino called Millennium Casino. Did you know that?

There are other things I can say about Northcoast that make
me believe that they have other motives than than just
trying to handicap games. One thing that blows my mind is
how many picks a week which is totally impossible for anyone
to try and pick that many. This includes many total plays the
monday night game and thursday night game or any and all
games that there are. He just wants people to bet and the
more the better. I did call in for some of the monday night
games and thursday night games and he also did bad on those.
I did bet the opposite on 2 of them and won. The one I for
sure rember was the Steeler 49er game and he picked the
Steelers which blew my mind as they were having a very bad
year and everyone knew it and yet that moron still picked them.
No I am sorry he has proven to me he is totally a fraud con
man that purposely gives out losing picks the worse moron
on eart would not pick. He is not even remotely serious as
he would not pick all those games if he were. I know I sure
would not do that. I say a person cannot have enough time
to 100% thoroughly handicap any more than 3 or 4 games a
                            week and be successful.

How much time do you spend for each game you do?

I don't think anyone can do more than 3 or 4 games a week
and do it thorouhly. You have to know everything going on
with both teams and that takes a lot of time to find out and
things can change anytime with injuries and suspensions ect.

Biloxi-I kid a lot about Northcoast, but in reality up until their picks were posted for free, I called quite a bit especially for their Monday night magic plays,as hey do have a good record on that day.
Phil is a great salesman(I always said he would make a terrifc used car salesman), and certainly knows how to market his picks.
Case in point- that Wisconsin GOY that covered easily;all I heard for the next two weeks is that the pick covered by 40 points but no mention that book pays odd the same whether it ****** by 40 points or only 1 point.
We;;-I guess everyone is just trying to make a buck some with more honesty than others and some with more marketing abilities than others.
