Right MM, you would think he murdered someone with all this negative publicity.

I like LBJ, and this hasn't changed my opinion about him in the least.

Money means nothing here, imagine one of these guys cutting him as a sponsor because he "got mad." I promise it won't happen, because plain and simple, no one really cares, they just do a very good job pretending they do.

Was it a good move? No. Just cut him a break, he doesn't fuck up very often, and is a great guy.

I don't see what more can be said about all of this.

I made my point several times in the previous 4 pages. If you missed them all, go back and check them out.

I couldn't care less if he didn't shake anyone's hand after that loss. As fans, we beg and plead for our professional athletes to show some raw emotion and passion for the game. So when a guy finally does care this much then it shouldn't be surprising that he has no interest in fraternizing with the team that just kicked his tail. Should he make a habit of it? Probably not, but I prefer that attitude over the alternative.

The rest of the stuff should've been a no-brainer from a PR perspective. He'll eventually apologize and say he screwed up to appease sports radio blowhards like Mike Greenberg.

In the end, I don't think we can expect athletes to leave it all out on the court every game and build these things up as rivalries and then expect them to share a swirl margarita with their opponent at halfcourt when the buzzer sounds. Bitter rivalries are one of the things that make sports great and if that means fewer smiles and handshakes, then so be it.

Well I have to say, for the most part, I agree with Wayne.....

                        1. He threw his team under the bus. Left them to deal with all the questions of why they choked. He wants to be the team leader and yuck it up with all them with those phony photo acts before the game, but then he leaves them high and dry after this choke job.

                        2. Yeah, he carried them, but that's NOT what wins championships. Jordan made the players around him better and so does Kobe. If Lebron is going to carry the team every year in the playoffs and be a ball hog, THEY WILL NEVER WIN IT. That's a fact. Him scoring all those points didn't do squat. I watched as they threw him the ball at the top of the key and all the players watched him go one on one, and that just doesn't work. PERIOD.

                        3. Yes, this is ALL about the money. I lost all respect for Lebron when he said he wants to be the first billion dollar athlete. After he said that, everything changed and when he acts like an asshole after a huge loss like this, then all gloves are off in my eyes and the media has a right to grill the billion dollar baby.

                        4. If you don't like the negative publicity or being under the media microscope, then don't play and go into seclusion. But when you are a public figure, esp one who wants to be paid a billion dollars for playing a fucking game, then you better be thick skinned to take a rash of shit from the media. FOR THAT, I HAVE NO SYMPATHY FOR HIM.

I never said that you did say that Wayne, I said it meaning that the only time you see two teams line up and walk a line where every player shakes every players hand after a game is during the NHL playoffs. NEVER, NEVER, can I remember a MLB player shaking hands or hugging someone from the other team after a game. In the NBA and NFL you are right, they all scatter around and shake hands and hug each other and that's all good, but I'm sure there is a player or two that slips into the lockeroom without shaking someones hand and no one makes a big deal of that.

You see some guy's in the NFL gather up after the game and pray while you see others not taking part in it. No one makes a big deal of that. Isiah and Magic kissed each other before the tip off in the 88 finals. Is that the kind of stuff we need to see, hug's and kisses? I don't, I just want to see the game. I could careless about Lebron and Howard, or any player not meeting and greeting each other AFTER THE GAME. Shake each others hand, pat each other on the butt, and wish each other good luck before the tip off. Oh I forgot, THEY ALREADY DO ALL THAT. Why do people feel they have to do it after the game as well?

The only time anyone cares about this crap is when it's a star player, or like when Belichick didn't go out and shake Mangini's hand. I turned on ESPN News just to see what it was all about, and they spent 47 minutes talking about it. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? If the Cav's would have won the series and Lebron ran right over to talk to the sideline reporter, and after that ran off into the lockeroom to celebrate with his teammates we wouldn't even be talking about this. The media didn't get the story they wanted with Kobe and Lebron matchup. But just their luck, Lebron runs off the court and BAMM. They have their NON-story that they make a story.

Now adding to that, Vols fan makes a good point in saying "If you can run around like a maniac when you hit a game winning shot you should stand there and take your loss like a man".

I agree with you and Wayne on this. Does Lebron look like a baby for what he did? Hell yes he does, because of what you pointed out VF. Lebron is all about himself, he needs too grow up a lot. But this he didn't shake so and so's hand crap is way over done imo.

I love all the Lebron haters.

This is another example of a ridiculously overblown story by ESPN.

The guy thought this was the year. You work all offseason and all season to win a title and when you realize it's not gonna happen as the final buzzer sounds, he was obviously extremely pissed off. Let's all kill him for it! The analogy he made relating to the fight in the schoolyard is actually a good one.

Meanwhile, Brandon Marshall was highlighted on OTL this weekend for numerous domestic violence incidents. This guy obviously is a f'ing POS and has major anger issues. So why exactly are we on here ripping on Lebron for not shaking hands?
