i look at it like this.

if you had 2 put the ball in one guys hand last shot to win a game
a gold medal who you giving the ball too?

me id go with Jordan,Bird or mullin

the only guy on the redeem team i'd even consider giving the ball to in a must win spot would be kobe. the rest of them no chance.

that about says enough for me as to which team is better. i can see both sides of this but the 1st team IMO had far better pure talent, shooting, defense, passing and all around skills.

Very Serious. I was never a Pippen fan. To me, he showed his true colors when Jordan left. In a game of 2 on 2, i would take Kobe and Lebron over Jordan and Pippen 8 days a week too and Jordan is my favorite player of all time.

As much as i love Bird, he and Mullin who get their slow white asses raped by the redeem team!

i agree about pippen but disagree about the 2 on 2 game.
jordan was so good that in his prime lebron and kobe would both need to guard him leaving pimpin wide open which would = a MJ pimpin win cause thats how that guy rolls. he can make shot undefended lol

I'm talking 1992 vs 2008, not in their prime.

Lebron cannot shoot from the outside. I know he is Big, fast and strong as hell but a 26 year old Defensive Pippen would give LEBRON fits just like old man Bowen did last year's finals. In a 2-2 game, Jordan and Pippen would win 15 to 4.

in todays game yes. when they played no way. plus mullin and bird could shoot better off handed(opposite hand) than kobe or lebron. kobe and lebron would get killed in a game of horse, pig or a 3pt contest. my point being from a pure shooting talent its not even close. are they as athletic no way. i agree but basketball talent and shooting they are IMO better

Well we agree to disagree. I think Kobe and Lebron are going to be 2 of the top 10-15 all time NBA players when their careers are done and i also think you are REALLY underestimating both of them on defense too.

Kobe proved he cannot win without Shaq and now is 30 years old. Once your body turns 30, its not the same as 27. As for Lebron, I think the Cavs are going to have to get a dominant lowpost guy to open things up for him. Thats the difference from Jordan to these 2 way ovverrated guys, Jordan did not need a big man unless you call Bill Wennington or Luc Longley a big man. These 2 clowns couldn't hold Jordan's jock straps. Trust me.

Lebron was 13-28 from downtown and 60% from the field in the olympics....In 92 Jordan was 4-19 from 3.

You're knocking what the kid did when he was 21 years old in the Finals against an experienced Bowen and Spurs team...HE TOOK THE CLEVELAND CAVS to the FINALS at 21 years old! There is not a single person on the planet that can stop Lebron 1on1 including Pippen in his prime.

How many rings did Jordan get without Pippen??? I think Jordan the greatest of all time but the Kobe couldn't win without Shaq line isn't for sure yet and Jordan never won a ring without Pippen as his sidekick...when kobe had a sidekick he won 3 rings...that argument is pointless

[QUOTE=wayne1218]I think it is closer than most think. As ctt stated, many of the dream team guys were on the back end of their career.

I think the biggest difference though is the competition level. The Dream team punked teams when they were still figuring out how to play. Now, these Countries that the redeem team played would put up a much better fight than the teams did in 1992. I think the redeem team would have beat everyone by 40+ too if they played those '92 teams.

                          QUOTE]

This is being way overlooked, the world is 10 times better in 2008 than it was in 1992.

And Pippen didn't win shit w/out Jordan. What's your point? Trust you??? I've been around long enough and seen all these guys careers to trust myself but thanks!

This guy is an obvious kobe hater and if you can't have an unbiased argument with him, why bother?

People hate Kobe and if their argument can't put that hatred aside, they will never have an open mind in the debate.
