I hear all this talk around here about how good their defense is supposed to be, but I just don't see it. They were ranked in the mid 50's last year and return 8 guys and added a few juco's. I don't see how this jumps them up to a top 20 defense. The way they press on offense leaves their defense out there too long to shut anyone down. I'm just not sold I guess
You are right. That game @ Kansas will be very tough. I missed that one. As far as Kansas St goes, you are waaaay more worried about them than me. I think they are an average team at best.

They are definitely an average team as Fresno proved in the bowl season. Manhattan is a tough place to play though, and I really like their QB in Freeman. Losing Jordy Nelson will definitely hurt them though, but with Freeman and the purple eaters from Manhattan in the stands, no one has an easy ride up there including OU

Shoot, they may have a little down year this year, but they're a top 5 team for then next 10 years imo.
