Paul Pierce was limping badly when he exited the arena after Game 1 on Thursday night due to the sprained right knee he suffered in the second half.
He should be considered questionable for Game 2 at this point. "We'll see," he said. "I mean, it's in pain. I was able to get through tonight. I don't know if it was off adrenaline or what, but got through it." How he feels on Friday and Saturday should determine his status for Sunday's game. The good news is that he was able to finish Game 1. The bad news is he "heard a pop" and was really struggling to get into his car afterwards.

I'm just curious, if Paul Pierce is out for Game 2, which I think will be the case, what should the line be? It's +1 on my book, and I'm all over it like a fat on cake, and I'm guessing it will be about Lakers -4 if Pierce is out, but what do you guys think?

BW, Pierce said today that he will play in game 2 and he sounded extremely confident about it saying it is the Finals and he is not going to miss it. I think there is a 99% chance he plays so i think you are wasting your time buddy.

They are not even going to take a MRI until after the season. Pierce said it didn't matter what the results were and he didn't want to know until after the season is over.

Pierce said today that he heard a pop and felt pain in his knee that he never felt before. He was also instructed to get into the wheelchair, he didn't request it. I guess Pierce hearing a pop makes him a liar and an actor.

He said if the game was today, he probably wouldn't play but since it is on Sunday, he should be able to go.

I could care less personally. All i know is that i was devastated when i saw Pierce's pain on his face and he was carried off the court. I couldn't believe he came back out and my only thought was thank god. I havn't heard anyone locally comparing this to Willis Reed. The only ones i've heard all day saying it is the national media. Every single person i talked to today and heard on local radio was just glad he was alright. Turn on all the national shows and he is being ripped and they are screaming how it wasn't Willis Reed. Who the fuck said it was? I'm still trying to figure that one out. If it was Kobe, i guarantee it would have been portrayed as an amazing feat. Guaranteed! I can't believe the theories and time on their hands people have to come up with this stuff. People should be talking about Boston's great defensive effort in the 2nd half, PJ Brown, the play of Rondo and the nice defensive effort against Kobe. Kobe had 24 points on 26 shots while Pierce scored 22 points on 10 shots. That was one big difference in the win and PJ Brown was another. Boston won by 10 and they were a +10 with PJ Brown on the floor. Nobody expected anything out of this guy when he was signed off his couch a couple of months ago. Simply amazing. Boston leads 1-0 and we will see what game 2 brings. All the rest of this crap can be theorized endlessly imo.

I dont care who wins --- I hate Kobe ( although I think he is by far the best player ) and dislike both teams ( lakers more) --Im gonna root for whoever I had money on.

Last nights game was VERY VERY strange !!! Seems as if the Lakers took the night off - especially Phil Jackson and Kobe -- they seemed out of it , disintrested , almost bored

I honestly think they gave a half assed effort to extend the series as long as possible

You have a theory or complaint seemingly for many of them and i don't know how you do it because it would take all the fun out of sports for me. A pop? 3 Minutes?? Who knows, are you a doctor? I said it in the in game thread. Literally less than 3 minutes and he's hoping, skipping and jumping. That is the kind of stuff i CAN'T take with NBA. did you see perkins walk off on his own 2 feet only not to return to the game at all..............................................i f anyone thinks pierce is really hurt your just a worried celtics fan, and you shouldn't be, because he's fine and you won game 1.

Greek personally what kills it for me is I am just coming off more than a 2 month stretch of playoff hockey, and to see BS like that.......I can't even enjoy the game. It's almost like they had a plan B if things weren't going there way.

you should re -read my post -- again you are defending "your" team and "your" player --- I am blaming the NBA alot more than I am Pierce and if Kobe was in Pierces shoes last night and it played out the same way -- then YEAH I would call bullshit again
